I just wanted to share a little bit of my good fortune with everyone. I am not trying to fish for a referral in anyway what so ever because if I did, I would post a link. I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm extremely happy to report that I have now actually been paid by Associated Content for a few of my published works. I love to type about anything that interests me and I wrote several pieces that I turned into Associated Content. A few of them were turned down but to my outstanding surprise, 8 pieces of work were accepted and four of them were approved for upfront payment. They deposited the money into my paypal and I ended up receiving a total of $20.33 which is extremely thrilling for me. Sorry for my over enthusiasm but I really wanted you to share that with you guys as I feel a certain amount of joy myself whenever I hear about something good happening to my friends here at mylot so I wanted to give some of that back. Thanks guys for being with me every step of the way.

Congrats! It's a good feeling, isn't it? I just sold two pieces to AC a week or so ago (first in a couple of years-been busy on other projects). I was pleased to see their performance pay scheme.
I've actually got a steady trickle of income through several of these sites (AC, Constant-content, triond, helium, and squidoo to be exact) that now reliably totals about $8 per month even when I don't post any new stuff. And my website is taking off (http://www.allinfoaboutreading.com)-getting about 50-75 visitors per day.
Do you also know you can sell larger works on lulu.com? They are a pod publisher of ebooks and various other things, but they don't ask for upfront fees and their 'take' on your selling price is reasonable. If you're a budding novelist or writer of books, it's worht a look.

Wow. Thanks for the response. That is very helpful and motivating as well. I appreciate those links as well. I have written a few novels but never done anything with them for fear of rejection. Perhaps I will give them a try and see what happens. Good day to you!

I put non-exclusive as I believe that is the only way you can mark them if you have your articles on more than one site. That is my understanding anyway. I also think that you get paid more for work that is exclusive to AC as they can then do with it what they want and offer you a higher pay on it. It seems to be that way for me. I have never been accepted for upfront payments on non-exclusive works so I don't know if this is correct or not. I'm guessing it is otherwise they probably wouldn't have declined upfront payment on some of the non-exclusive works that I have written.

I have a question for you. I see that you are a member of Helium and AC. Question: When you post articles on Associated Content, whcih box do you check for if the article ias already on Helium. Exclusive or Non exclusive? I guess my question is " Can you have an article on Helium and AC at the same time? Which one pays more money?

That is awesome. I'm glad to hear that I have given someone motivation as that makes me feel better. I love to help others out in anyway that I can. If I might offer you some advice, I've learned over the past few weeks myself that general topics don't typically get accepted for upfront payment and unpopular news isn't generally accepted for it either as the interest in those topics tends to waver. The topics that I have gotten rewarded for were things that I actually had personal experiences in such as handling the grief of loss and trying to advise others how to cope and also I love to study the cultural backgrounds of many different countries and so I submitted some of these pieces to the travel section and those were the ones that were accepted. Hope this helps in some way. Enjoy and good luck!

Go you!! I'm also a member over there and stories like yours always remind me that writing can actually make me money. I've been REALLY busy lately so I haven't written any new content lately but I'm gonna get right back to it soon here. Once again congratulations! I remember that exact excitement when I first got paid from them about a year ago.

Such a thrilling moment it is isn't it? It doesn't matter if it's a few dollars or more than that. Ever little bit helps and yes, it was a great feeling. Congratulations to you as well. I'm very happy for us both. I wish you the best of luck with all of your future writings! Happy posting and have a wonderful night.
