Severe Weather siren sounds...what do you do?

I would take shelter and turn on the tv or radio! Why the heck would people decide its a good idea to call 911? that is jsut silly. Someone who was trying to call 911 for an actual emergency might not be able to get through if all the idiots were calling at once to ask "duh what's this siren for?" lol. Oh my.

ive never lived in a place that had sever weather sirens..but even i think that calling 911 to find out why is pretty stupid! find shelter then listen to the radio or tv, whatever you guys get an immediate local emergency broadcast thingy. i have lived in a part of a small city that was below a dam. and they had tests in case the dam ever broke and a flood was the danger. they would broadcast a series of musical tones ( i swear it was the communication sounds from that Richard Dryfuss movie..Invaders of the Third Kind..or something like that!) they only sounded the test on thursday mornings, every week. then one tuesday night they sounded an alert-minus the tones with a person saying what sounded like "How now brown Cow"!! i swear, EVERYBODY on our street thought it was saying that! everybody where i worked that lived near one of those speaker towers thought the same thing the next morning! next days evening news we come to find out that the "test" was nothing to worry about and that it was a timing problem with their computer or something..and apparantly it was saying "Find High Ground Now!" lol! thankfully the dam HADNT busted cause everybody in the "danger zone" would have drowned thinking the damn thing was saying "How now brown cow!"
