Is Mylot ever a humbling experience for you?

Have you ever been feeling sad or depressed or just sorry for yourself and in reading comments from other people, posts that they write or questions that they ask, come across something that made you feel humbled by their words? In other words, just when you think you have it bad, you read something that makes you think perhaps things aren't quite as bad as you thought they were? And maybe it gives you a new perspective on the way you feel or the way that you look at the things that have happened to you recently or in your life overall?

This is like an always thing.... That is why I like mylot and groups like this...
You can read about others and learn that everything will be okay... Might take time and a little dealing with. But... You don't have the worst problems out there! Thankfully!!

I'm sure like anyone else, you wouldn't want to wish a bad experience on anyone, but for those who have had traumatic situations in life, I think its so brave to come on a site like this and share it.

Absolutely. Sometimes you think that you have a firm opinion in something, but the advice or suggestions you are given make you take a step back and reconsider your perspective. It often can be a very humbling experience.

yes, it’s a great vent-site for me, a wonderful place to offload all those pent-up emotions which I could never speak out in real life….all my inner feelings, my hatred for my near ones in specific situations, my lust, my yearnings, my dreams, my drawbacks. Its also a place which has taught me that no matter how bad the situation is, someone somewhere is coping with something worse and that every situation has a way out of it. I could just write about my problem and a 1001 friends would come up with suggestions, advices, similar stories, help, courage, so much…mylot just makes my day.

All the time. I have had a charmed life compared to some of the posters on this site. I have never gone hungry, walked the streets, been in prison, been assaulted or raped. The mother of my child remains my wife, my child is healthy, intelligent and educated, she gives me no problems. I have a nice home that I own, some money in the bank and whilst I don't work 9-5 at present, that is by my own choosing and I can afford to stay off. I would say that I am very lucky. Most of all I am loved and I worry that some myLotters don't get that from anybody in their lives.

Yes, I have met once. Since I joined here, everything goes well, everyone is kind-hearted and freindly. But one day when I response a discussion, I was misunderstood by ther poster. We made a few arguments which made me rather depressed. So I must give a response cautionly in future.

Sometimes it is hard to get our words just right so that people understand just exactly what it is you are trying to say. I have had that problem a few times, but don't worry about it. Like you said just try to be a little more careful in responding the next time.

Thank you for your advice very much. I just hope that no matter what happens, people keep freidly to each other instead of aggressive. We are here for communication, for fun and for help, even if one has the opposite opinion we must understand and thank him or her for sharing, and maybe it will give you a new perspective to see the question.

People on this site come from all walks of life. They have had many experiences. Some that we would hope to never have. Sad, but true.

Yup! My thoughts exactly! Sometimes you think you have the perfect answer to a specific problem, and then you find that your carefuly thought out answer went right over the Poster's head! Other times.( as you say) you feel so fortunate that you didn't open that box of worms. Isn't myLot a mixed Bag of Monkeys?
