Interesting ideas

I would like some cool ideas for vacations that aren't too far away. Learn a little about America that you may not read in the history books. I'n not looking for UFO things or anything, just neat places that have some color. Anyone know any places like that?

The National Parks are great. All of them are on beautiful site or in historially significant areas. And, they are all over the country, so no matter where you live you can probably find one nearby.
Try NPS.gov and see what's in your area.

Really gepends on where you live. If you are in the east you can visit civil war battlefields. Great way to learn about an important time in American History and see the country. The 150th anniversary is coming up, there will be reinactments of most of the battles. They are incredible to witness and even very moving.
