Apparently, the United States government believes labeling cloned or genetically altered foods is on a "need to know basis" and the FDA has stated "we, the US citizens, do not need to know" Recently, at a Genetically Modified Foods Workshop conducted by the Codex Alimentarius, the FDA stated that labeling GM foods as cloned or genetically modified would too easily confuse the American consumer and we would "not make the right choice." After watching this video: The Health and Dangers of Genetically Modified Foods (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94d-KVorSHM)
Did YOU know about GM foods?

I didn't know any of this but I think that if foods are being altered in any way we (the consumers) should be able to know about it. By not telling us, it makes it look like there is something the FDA is hiding.

I do not like the idea of a need to know bases when it comes to food, everyone needs to know what they are eating and why

now that is just sick and stupid and makes me so pissed off. the worst thing anyone can do to another person is to take their choices away. and by not telling us that is just what they are doing and that is so not right! i am going to look more into this and i am going to see what i can do about this. I will stop buy General Mills products and let others i know about this too

Here's another great resource: http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/index.php?p=495
This article actually lists some of the "big" companies involved. It's not just about NOT telling us, these actions are bankrupting our country and many countries around the world!
