What is your favourite "Oreo" treat and how do you eat it?

I was getting snacks for the kids after school today, and the common choice was cookies. Not just any cookies, but "Golden Oreo" cookies. It got me to thinking about how many different kinds of Oreo cookies are out there, and how many things people make with them.
What about you? What's your favourite Oreo cookie? Regular? Double stuff? Golden? Mint? Peanut Butter? Oreo ice cream? How about Oreo cakes? Do you have a special treat you make for friends? Do you eat the cookies whole? Or do you separate them, lick the centres, and then nibble on the outsides? Must you dunk them in milk? Do you have any special memories of eating Oreos?

I've only seen the vanilla ice cream base for oreo ice cream, but I remember when they first came out, in 1L tubs, they used to have vanilla OR chocolate ice cream. YUM!
I'll see if I can find you some peanut butter oreos for the next time you're here.

Mmmm, I love Oreos! But only the original, single-stuff ones, and always, always dunked in milk, the whole cookie dunked, till it's almost ready to fall apart, and I try to pop the whole thing in my mouth before it falls apart all over my shirt or chest or whatever. I will also dunk them in coffee, yum. Geez, now I want some Oreos, CanadaGal!

Oreos are wonderful, aren't they? Go ahead.. have some. And if you're worried about the calories, I could make a few suggestions as to how to wear them off.

Please Miss. What's a Golden Oreo? I know the ordinary black kind, I bought some for my daughter today. We make long trains of cookies interlaced with Vanilla or Chocolate ice cream. Or when I make my own ice cream in the summer I bash 'em up and add the bits to the last 5 minutes of whisking - and eat immediately or they go soggy. They are very delicious and very sick making. Not as good as Heath bars and ice cream though. Golden Oreos, that's a newie to me.

Golden Oreos were likely made for those unfortunate souls who are allergic to chocolate. They look the same as the regular oreos, except they're vanilla cookies. They are VERY good, and to me, taste a lot like the vanilla girl scout cookies (not sure if you have those in the UK either).

when i was young, i do eat a lot of oreo, sometime my mom and my brother gets mad at me beacuase i finish the whole pack and nothing left for them to induldge, and when i eat Oreo, i do seperate them(the vannilla cream and the cookie) and i make sure the cream is stacked like pancakes, so by the time I finish off the seperated cookies, I will induldge the vanilla cream and mold them into things (soldiers, ball etc.) just like a clay molding.

Didn't your mom teach you not to play with your food? :P That's a first I've heard, of someone making sculptures out of their oreo fillings. Too funny!

I never tried those, and forgot about them until you mentioned. I was at the store today, and they had ones called oreo cakes.... instead of the crunchy cookie outside, it was more of a soft chewy cake.

We aren't really that crazy about Oreo over here.
I remember a time long ago when Oreo was considered premium and their cookies go for a decent prize.
Now, we find them dirt cheap in any old stall.
I take my oreo cookies plain. I wasn't aware there are so many kinds of oreo. I thought there is just one kind - looks like the picture you uploaded.

The original oreos are that of the picture I uploaded, yes. All of the other kinds of oreos are relatively recent... meaning in the last decade or so (I think). I agree, it's costing less and less to buy them nowadays. Maybe because people are becoming more health conscious, and it's the best way for the marketers to get people to buy them, by keeping the prices low?

I love Double Stuffed! I dunk it on fresh milk and eat it. Yummy! Oh, and we don't have Golden Mint here... I want one. I like mint :)

Golden mint we don't have either... there are the chocolate cookies with mint in the filling, or the golden oreos (all vanilla). Either way, they're all good! :D

My favorite Oreo snacks are the regular Oreo cookie and the Oreo cookies and cream ice cream. I am not a huge fan of the cream filling so I don't like Double Stuff.
I like to dunk my Oreo's in milk, it is one of only 2 cookies that I dunk; the other being Chips O'hoy.
Yes, I remember eat Oreo's at a family friend's house that we called Grandma (lastname). She had these little red plastic cups that she would put milk in for us and we children would sit at her dining room table and eat Oreos and milk. I loved going there.

I find the cream filling too sweet to eat, so I'm not a fan of the double stuff either.
What a sweet memory to have of eating oreos. :) Thank you for sharing.

I love Oreo, specially the ones with cream filling. I eat it with my favorite java coffee and dunk it in, let it the cookies soften a bit then scoop it out and eat it!

I don't recall ever dunking them into anything. I don't drink coffee, but I think I might have to try the ice cream dunking, as was suggested earlier in this discussion.

I always have adored those peanut butter ones, but I unfortunately have not seen them in a long time! I hate to admit it, but when I was younger, I would literally just eat an entire package of them. My parents were not happy with me... as I was a little crazy after that! I just eat them regular though (I know, I am no fun!) I used to eat them whole. Only occasionally would I twist them apart and eat the filling first! I don't think I have heard of Oreo cakes though... what are they? Are they the ones that are like two cake-like cookies stacked on the traditional Oreo cream?

When I mentioned the oreo cakes, it was more in reference to home (or store bought) baking, where the oreos are crushed up and used as cake toppings on the icing and such.
I was at my local A&P this morning, and went to buy some of the peanut butter ones, but they were all sold out! I am going to guess that they are very good too, otherwise there would still be some on the shelf lol.

I like the traditional chocolate oreos with white icing blended into a Dairy Queen Oreo Blizzard. I miss those here in Sedona, because we do not live near a Dairy Queen. I sure wishwe did. When I get back to Canada in a few months I'm going to go to Dairy Queen and have one.

Oreo blizzards are great. McDonald's does them too, but somehow, they just don't taste as good as the DQ ones.

I rarely eat oreos, Iguess we just usually make homemade cookies - I had no idea they have made so many variations... last I knew double stuff was the new thing for oreos.
I like the desert with an oreo crumb crust and pistachio pudding and whip cream topping
