What do you all do with the hamberger grease and such? I put mine in an old coffee can that I have not recycled yet. I have a friend that says she just pours it down the drain and runs the hot water for a minute. I dont think thats a good idea. What do you think?

for grease I do not wish to save I will pour it off into a tin and discard it after it has solidified some. I also shove some newspaper in the tin above the grease to keep it from seeping out...then I will place that in a plastic shopping bag tied off to not entice animals. if it is bacon grease that I wish to keep I will pour it off into a mason jar and store it in the fridge.

Gotta save that bacon grease, it's the best for making sausage gravy.

I pour the grease into an empty can usually whatever veggie we are having that night. My husband often pours the grease down the drain, but I'm sure it will clog it up someday.

I usually put mines in a empty container. One of the counties here, advise not to pour down the drain. It clogs the system. I am not sure if the hot water helps dissolve. I personally would not do it.

I have a George Forman so I end up with alot of grease when I grill meat. I keep a large spagetti can or whole tomatoes can or large fruit cocktail can near the grill to dump the grease in. When it's full, I stick it in a ziplock and toss it out then put a new can out. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I wait until it cools and pour it in the trash can. I only do that if the bag is pretty full and going to be changed soon. Pouring grease down the drain even if you run hot water can clog up the drain and cause problems.

I have to admit I've done the drain/hot water thing on occasion, but not with real thick grease (still not a good idea, I know). I use a large coffee can too. Since I now have small cat food cans, I was just thinking I could use one of them each and dump in the trash right away. Sorta like single serving grease container? LOL ...
