What do you spend each week on your hobbies?

Think of 1-2 major hobbies of yours. How much do you spend (on average) to enjoy your hobbies? My biggest hobby is raising/showing my dogs. I do spend at least $30/wk on dog food and misc. supplies. Occasionally there is even more $ out for vet bills. My next biggest hobby is computer stuff... that's about $30/month. Then my 3rd is cooking/baking and that's usually $20/over the grocery's cost. / mo. Would I rather be empty and without those things, and maybe spend more on my house? nahh... hopefully the baking experience will help raise $ to support the other hobbies and fix the house up more. Right now my baking is done in a toaster oven or at my grandma's house. When I get a real oven/range I'll be selling my cookies again. :)

Well my biggest hobby would have to be Mini-truckin. Yes, I know. Im one of those guys who buys a perfectly good pickup and drops it so low, and cuts up the bed floor so that it is completly useless. It really does start to add up though. My truck cost me 500 bucks. I have over 2000 into suspension, around 1000 into exterior appearance, close to 1500 into interior/sound, and a head full of ideas on how to spend some more money. I would say on average I spend $100 bucks a month on the truck until show season. Then the prices shoot up due to driving across the state. good times.

please share some photos of the mini truck... my truck cost $16,000 and I just plow snow with it & drive it daily. It was a utility buy, not a fun buy. LOL... I like your deal better. ;-)

I have many hobbies but I dont really know how much I spend each week for the hobbies... cos it varies a lot. First, I love gardening - I buy the bulbs, seeds or soil every few months maybe about 30 - 50AUD (depends on the needs) while for the pots or other equipment I very rarely spend money because once you buy you can use it for a long time. And then I love knitting, again this cant be said how much money spend per week... but usually when Im starting a project I will spend up to $100 per project (maybe about 2 - 3 months) and the most important ones, I love to read!! I read novels or comics ... I try not to spend too much, but it is hard as I do love to collect them... Usually I spend about 50 - 80 per month ... I always try to get a new book but with discount, buying off catalogue etc2 :)

I do not spend much at all on hobbies,I would have the internet connection whether I did anything like post online, and I read books from the library.Other than that, I would almost say that work is my hobby. I have in the past bought lots of leftover craft supplies at sales, so I do not need to spend much at all on crafting either. I have read your posts about the Christmas cookies, and they just made my mouth water all over the place. It sounds like an excellent proposition. Good luck on getting everything fixed up so you can bake. I bet you could easily sell specialty cookies year round.

Sounds like you've got a good way of managing hobbies without spending much $$ :0) Thanks for the encouragement in the baking dept. I would love to make the special cookies all year. I have my eye on a really nice oven... it's not too much $ either. I'm $600 away from having it in my kitchen!

Cross stitching - takes up a lot of my spare time but I really enjoy doing it.
Being that money is tight right now, we don't spend anything on our hobbies however, my hobby doesn't cost anything after the initial kit, which depends on which one is choosen is how much it costs which is cross stitching. It takes a lot of my spare time to do it but I enjoy watching a picture form and knowing I did it myself. One has to be very patient to do this kind of hobby and I wonder where my patience comes from especially when I make a mistake, whoo! it takes almost as long to take out as it did putting in. I just grin and bear it some how but with a gritty smile. lol

I have collected so much stuff for my hobbies - painting, beading, scrapbooking, that I don't need to spend anything on a weekly basis. I only get things, like adhesive when I run out, which might be once a month or so. I don't know if that's a good thing though, because I had to spend so much money to get all the stuff and store it now for use later. Oh well - I still love it!

aww that sounds like so much fun. I have done some bead-work before. Once I made a Star of David for a jewish friend. I took tiny glass beads and glued them to a wood backing. I used a lightweight grout and made an cute ornament. I also did one of a humming bird. Hmm... That's something I'd like to get back into. (oops, now I gotta buy more beads and adhesives)
