Friends with benfits

Is it a good idea to have friends with benfits? Sometimes one person gets to close, while the other has only friendship on there mind. But then you never know, both of you might end up together.

I have tried this before with a few different people and it just never works. Not for me anyways. My sister has one as we speak. Has had for a few months now and now she wants to be with him. Usually it ruins the friendship in the end.
