Travel Locales?

I'm trying to schedule a getaway with the hubby and kids next week and need something fun but not too expensive. What is your favorite site for finding family destinations? Expedia, Hotwire? Any others? I am having a hard time trying to locate an inexpensive travel deal at the last minute. Grrr. Thanks in advance for your comments/help!

Try site59 dot com. They have lots of last minute travel deals and some of the prices are pretty good.

Orbitz.com is a good one. For me, I look up a motel chain I like and a location that sounds interesting. I find the nearest airport and book right w/ the airline. That might help u find a flight that isn't over-booked. I hear that a lot of airlines are overbooked more than usual nowadays!

You're so right. Orbitz is a good site to go to. I'll check it out again and compare to Hotwire and lastminute.com. I appreciate your input!

You could try Travel Supermarket. I think you could look on tour operators web sites for last minute or a bargain holiday. A good travel agent might be able to pick out a cheap deal for you. I like to compare flight prices and book one of these. Then I read a guide book and choose accommodation whilst I am there. I like to tour around a variety of different locations. I hope that you and your family find the perfect vacation.
