Clearly, these folks never heard the phrase, "environmentally friendly"!

My brother got a coupon in the mail last week for a free pack of cigarettes when he buys one. Did it come in a small, recycled-paper envelope? Oh, no, no, no, my dear - it came IN A BOX. A six-piece, tri-fold, box within flaps within a box. All this to deliver a small piece of paper. I was appalled! Never mind how annoyed Bro was by dissecting this masterpiece of tree-slaughter, only to find nothing in it. All that wrapping, he expected a keychain or SOMETHING - not a bloody coupon! Do you think these folks are learning impaired, or what?

I get stuff in the mail from Marlboro all the time and they wrap it in a huge paper or carboard wrapping and when you finally get to what is inside, there is a bunch of paper with print on it along with a coupon. that is a waste of money in my book. None of us really look at what is inside other than the gift or the coupon enclosed. Sometimes they just send a flyer out with no gift or coupon. that is really a waste of time, money and postage.

Yes. I agree. they waste alot of postage also by sending all that carboard for a few little coupons inside.

I think they are trying to make an impact and feel this is the best way of making it memorable! They are however doing it with no regard for the world we live in and are totally thoughtless about the impact they have on the environment too - to be honest it would deter me from using the company again - after I had used the coupon of course! xxx

I also recieved a boxed coupon from Camel. It was a big box that slid open, then a pack of Camel's in that.I thought, what the heck is this wasted paper for. I thought it might have been a whole pack mailed in the box. But no, it was an empty pack inside the big box with a small coupon in it. Unreal. So wasteful. But I do recycle so it all went into my recycle bin. Grrr! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
