or you just let him/her free to go wherever she wants inside your house? My parents wont let me free the dog for 2 days now. My labrador was crying until 1am earlier and im really saddened to the thought that she can't go out of the cage just yet because there are carpenters in the morning and my dad said that she might bite them or wheatever, but she's just the sweetest thing on earth. She just loves everybody she sees, she doesn't even bark at people just to cats. Odd right.?! But yeah she's just a baby!

Nope, I don't out my dog in a cage. I used to, when he was small, because my parents aren't used to dogs inside the house. Our other dogs are outside. But eventually, my parents gave in and would let my dog run wild and free inside the house, and sometimes sleeps in the couch. She's my beloved baby!

Oh,I only put it in the cage night. After all,it's an animal. It shouldn't sleep with humans to prevent some
kind of disease. It's pet.Do you think so?

Disease? Pfft. Humans are dirtier than animals as far as I'm concerned.

My dog stays in a crate at night and whenever no one is home during the day, usually a few hours a day. He's got separation anxiety and not only does it prevent him from destroying our house, it makes him feel safe as well. He tends to just sleep and is much calmer in his crate than if we leave him with free run of the house.

Yes that's my dog. He's a cavalier king charles spaniel, just below a year old at the moment so the coat isn't yet as long as it will be when fully grown but size-wise he's not gonna get any bigger. He's quite big for the breed actually, most cavs are a fair bit smaller.

I can completely understand your parents not wanting to be liable for any thing that could happen with the dog and strangers who are working on the house. A lot of people are afraid of dogs, what if they freak out if the dog sneaks up on them,or what if the dog gets hurt on accident with one of the tools? It sucks when you have to lock up your dog all day. Just try to give her some extra attention at night, when she gets let out. Maybe your parents would let you bring the kenell into your room at night.

I have 3 dogs and 4 puppies right now. We never really put them in cages but just let them wander in the backyard. One of our dogs is kept inside the house during evenings, to guard the front door. Sometimes we do let all of them inside but for a few minutes only. Its chaotic but wonderful seeing them trashing around the house and running their hearts out.

Maybe you can walk your dog from time to time so that she won't get bored inside the cage... your parents are right... stangers might agitate you labrador eventhough she is the sweetest thing in the world...
My mother have two big and fierce dogs... but she doesn't have a cage for them... so they get tied up at the back of the house everytime there are visitors around...

The same here bud.. i face the same problem.. the dog is not allowed inside the house .. But we have never put it inside the cage.. I have let it free inside the compound. Yes when some1 has come home to attend the works in the house we tie it and i make sure that i stay with it so that it doesn't feel eluded. it is very fond of me . and like wise i some times feel that i am not justifying with my dog that is the way i feel

I have a lab as well. What color is she? Mine is yellow. And she is the most precious thing ever! She would never hurt a fly, and thats how every other lab I know is. Is it a full-bred lab? If so, i can almost guarantee that once it is no longer a baby, your parents will see that a caage is no place for her! Labs require a lot of attention and as long as you train her (which is incredibly easy to do), she will be a good dog. Just give it time. Maybe consider putting up a fence in the backyard so that when people such as carpenters come over, you can just send her outside. I don't know about most dogs, but my dog is fine with a very short, inexpensive fence. She has never tried to jump it. She is so timid that she never explores her boundaries! lol But I hope things get better for ya! And soon enough your parents will come to love the dog just as much as you do!
