Hello youless!:-)
It's been ages that I have peeled an apple to eat it. I eat it with its skin on and I don't usually cut it either.
When, however, my partner was around, she sometimes used to peel the skin for us to eat. Then when she used to make fruit desserts, salad or something of that sort, she used to peel it. After her, I never did anything of that sort!

I had once started a discussion on fruits and the responses gave me many insights.
I used to peel my apples but after reading that there is much goodness contained just beneath the skill, I no longer peel them UNLESS they are WAXY which to me, feels poisonous if I eat it.

i prefer not to peel of apple skin. don't you know that apple skin is rich with antioxidant? so why i shoud peel it? in fact having skin of apple more delicious to eat. just for tips, if you are afraid there is kind of wax arround the apple skin (its used to make apple looks shinny and attractive), then soak your apples in warm water about 5 or 10 minutes. after dry it, you can eat your apples directly or put into your refrigenerator to cool it down :)

Marketing you stated the same exact words I was going to say. As they say, great minds think alike.

I tend to eat the peel as well. I know some people are concerned about fertilisers or pesticides, so I do tend to wash my apples thoroughly first. The other option is to buy organic, or if you are fortunate enough to have a big enough garden, grow your own! My favourite variety is Pink Lady, as it is so sweet.

Yeah, my mother-in-law has an apple tree in her back garden, I usually try to scrounge a few when it is in season, as they are really quite delicious. We have quite a small back yard, but I have got enough room for a pot with strawberries in, so I'm hoping to pick my own handful this summer!

Apple skin and onions are the two major food sources of a potent flavonoid called quercitin.Researchers have identified a dozen compounds -- triterpenoids -- in apple peel that either inhibit or kill cancer cells in laboratory cultures.
Wil I ever peel the apple and eat?

Unfortunately I have to peel the apples I get here because if I eat the skin, it makes my tongue itch.So whenever I have apples these days they are peeled and sliced and baked in a pie.

I think it is the chemicals they put on fruit these days. I never had any problem with apples when I was younger.

I do not peel it unless I am serving the apple to someone under 5 years! I do slice it or I bake it to soften it and bring out the sweetness! I have even baked apple pies with the skin still on, and made applesauce with the skin on! It has a few extra vitamins that way!

Baked apples are even more delicious than fresh apples! The natural sweetness blends in and it tastes like the sweetest treat ever, with the same amount of natural sugar that it came with as a fresh apple! the best part is that most anybody can eat one! It is soft and does not bother teeth the way fresh ones can. I know fresh apples help clean your teeth, but if you have any type of dentures or tooth-substitutes, it is tough to chew fresh apples.

I only peel my apples when the skin is a bit thick and hard to bite. Otherwise, I eat it as is. It's nice to eat apple with the skins, because it provides additional crunch to the fruit, and yes, it is the most nutritious part.

hi youless,
never ever i peel it oof..Like you, I also think an apple would taste best when it's eaten as it is - well, of course with a little washing. I am not sure about this but I've heard most of an apple's - or any other fruit's - most nutrition are located near it's 'skin' so I guess it's really best to eat your apple with the skin... also it is too much of work
