The Mav's took another hit tonight lossing to the Jazz. So now they can place that atop the pile of western great teams that they have been beaten by. That pile including loses to the Spurs and Lakers, possible playoff matchups.
They traded for Kidd and he has been progressing well with them, but so far they are not a high caliber team or winning for that matter.
In my opinion.. the west is much to deep with stellar teams, and does not leave room for any struggles. And struggling is most surely what the Mav's are going thru. If they keep lossing, they may be in possible danger of missing the playoffs completely.
Should the Mav's be hitting panick mode now? Or is it too soon to tell?

the mavs are one of the elite teams in the west. and it doesnt show in the season. playoff games show how good a team is. i pretty sure dallas will be in the playoff's and kidd, nowitzki and the mavericks will be one of the contenders. kidd's experience will one of the factors that will help them in the playoff.

Call me the weirdest non basketball fan but am I right that the west is the best conference and the championship will be awarded to a western team?Isn't it harder to go through the west?

Yeah. I did saw the Mavs-Jazz game a few hours ago. I expected that with Kidd around, its gonna be easier for the Mavs to score. Turned out the other way. Their defense improved with Kidd around yet they are poor offensively.
I think its too soon to tell because J.Kidd is still blending with the team and so as the team blending with him. The West is definitely one heck of a playoff race for the top seed and certainly the Mavs don't look like their up to another first seed spot in the West. What I think lacks in their game that's why they are losing is that Jason Kidd doesn't score that much points in a game. I know he's a very good point guard especially with his passing skills but he really needs to score to help the Mavs win games. He needs to shot baskets , score and shoot his free throws. Like what happened in the Mavs-Lakers game which the Mavs was down 104-105 by 1-point in OT. He could have tied the game with his free throw and yet he missed. Anyway, they shouldn't panic yet. I think its just a wake up call for them that if they keep on losing games on the road, they should be winning games at home to secure themselves a good playoff spot in the West.
