Do you wear shoes at home?

I am not some small girl with 2 ponytails but I do go around my house barefooted.
My contention is that since the floor in my house is clean, why should I fuss with shoes? And since I have no intention of slipping, why would I walk around in socks?
I know people who wear cuttie slippers around their house. I can never figure why.
So, do you wear shoes at home? Or slippers? Sandals? Barefooted? Or... ?

I'm usually barefoot whether I'm pregnant or not. I have a few pairs of cute little slippers I wear if it is really cold cause my feet get colder than any other part of my body but 99% of the time you can see my toesies. lol

I almost always have socks on... only cause I have poor circulation. I will where slippers in the winter to keep them warmer... plus I have a bad habit of just running outside to grab something, with just my socks. lol
In the summer yes I am almost barfoot always... i will have my flip flops sitting by the door to run out side or to town... but usually BAREFOOT!

I can imagine how comical it would be if you are "caught" outside with your socks on (only).:P

I wear a cheap pair of flip flops in my house as I go about whatever I am doing. They have not stepped onto the ground of the outside, because I only wear them inside, to assure that no other germs will I be tracking around. I do so because even though my apartment looks clean, I know that there are always things that can wind up on the bottom of my foot. Take my kitchen floor. I mop it, yet even one hour later I can put a wash cloth over the floor and still will find dirt. Dirt that my eyes cannot see. I think it is because it is an apartment, and many people have lived there. It is possible to get it clean to the naked eye, but at the end of the day, I don't want to lift my foot and see that it has turned an unnatural brown color from the dirt.

I only wear shoes when I absolutely have to. They say going bare feet can make you flat footed and perhaps so but I'm no skinny lady, I'm getting old and I'm always in bare feet and I still have an arch on my feet, so I'm good to go and I agree "Why fuss with shoes?"

what i've heard is the opposite. if you have flat feet, going barefoot regularly might actually improve it. i can actually attest to it myself. when i was a kid my parents told me to always wear shoes or sandals whether outside or insife the house and i had flat feet. when i lived by myself i started going barefoot a lot and now my flat feet are not as bad as they used to be.

Nope i dont't wear shoes or slippers at home. My mom don't allow me to walk around my home with slippers, as she wanted to be my house clean. And my habit is to get in and out from my house in a hurry, so i need to take my slippers outside my home or balcony.

That's a good and common question!!!!
In my house no shoes are allowed to wear, only slippers are allowed at home.If any guest comes we make them to remove their shoes and give them our slippers
Have a nice day!!

i love shoes. love them. -but i like summer shoes-you know, sandals, strappy things-shoes you don't have to wear socks with. but when i am home, i have to be barefeet. there is just something freeing about having your feet bare. i've never really understood either why people wear shoes in the house-especially outdoor shoes (like on tv-no one ever takes their shoes off). oh well...they would if they were coming in here! lol

I never wear shoes in my house, I can't get comfortable like that. In the winter I wear socks. I have all hardwood floors, but I've never slipped. In the summer I go barefoot.

Yes, I do. It has become a habit to move around in bedroom slippers. However, our culture doesnot approve of that. Most people here move about in bare foot for the indoors are supposed to be very clean and disinfected. I have never see my granny wearing slippers at home and we never enter her room, where we do prayers and she has a small temple with slippers on.

I thought, there's a subtle difference between 'approve of' and 'permit'!!

I hate wearing shoes at the best of times. I even take my sandals off when walking on grass... I just wear them where there might be something sharp, like grit.
So, no, I always go barefoot at home. I have slippers but I don't put them on unless I'm going outside to hang out the washing or something. I hate my feet to be restricted... much prefer the texture of what's beneath them, like the grass and the sand, and at home, I feel so much more comfortable without.
Brightest Blessings.

I don't feel comfortable wearing shoes at home. I even see people wear their shoes in bed! Anyways, I wear rubber slippers at home. I have a couple of pairs stationed around the house so I can slip into one whenever I need to. Even if our floor looks clean, I'm still not confident to go barefooted. When I was in primary, we were taught not to walk around without slippers because we can get worms that way. It's common knowledge here, so it's very seldom that you will see people barefooted inside the house.

yes, i've also seen people wear shoes in bed. that's an abomination! :p you only get worms if you walk barefoot on soil contaminated with human or animal feces that has worm, eeww! but i'm sure your house is clean, so you don't have to worry about getting worm if you go barefoot inside :)

you're a girl?? LOL i've always thought you were a guy. ^__^;;
i go around our house with a "cutie" slippers. its because our floor is not always clean. my nieces and nephew lives with us and they are always the main culprit in messing our house. dirt can easily enter our house. so i wear house slippers all the time. and i also don't want to go barefoot because it can make my soles grow "kalyo" (sorry for not thinking hard about the English term). and i don't like that. ^__^;; although here in my room i go barefoot at times since i know its clean. ^__^

Hey there Lordwizard. :). We have "inside-slippers" in our house. So we leave our shoes in a shoe rack. It's made of rubber so it has a very good grip on any kind of floor material, so we don't slip, or if we do have a chance of slipping, there would be a very slim one. I do wear socks at home, but I also wear slippers. :). Maybe, this is also cultural, having slippers inside the house is like a culture in this part of the world. It's like a "Cultural Fashion Statement" :D

NO Shoes in my home, when my family comes through the door shoes off, slippers on if they want to. All my company takes off there shoes to. I have invested alot of money in my flooring so I want it to stay looking nice for a long time. If they do not want to take off there shoes' then they can stay on the patio outside.

Yup, no shoes for my house too. Wouldn't want the floor to get dirtied.
