Many of the great psycologists of the twentieth century have tried to distinguish a firm barrier between maedness and genius but in my opinion the two can be one and the same. I think that the ability to see things without the full bias of the outside world is the core of genuis and I believe that those who are Mad are so because the view the world contrary to the norm opinion. By far I am not saying everyone who is mentally ill is a genious but I do beliefve it couldn't hurt. What is your take?

When you exceed in one passion, you are not considered 'normal'.
If you are not hanging out and usually stay isolated and mind your own business, you are not considered 'normal'.
If your ideas and way of thinking is way superior than others', you are not one of them.
If others' consider you are not one of them by any of these reasons, this is 'madness'!
Well, how could a genius possibly not be considered mad?
Every superior acts, thoughts, behaviours are put aside by society, and when I say superior, I mean constant unexpected better values than others show.
Every living genius is condemned to madness by the society.

Look at people like Josepf Mengele, who was obsessed with birth defects, and genetic differences in humans. To the point where he used the concentration camps as a way to get human lab rats. He loved twins, did things like disected them alive, conducted other kinds of experiments, like freezing and trying to rewarm the human body. As cruel and uncaring as the man was, and could be considering mentally ill or damaged, he was obviously intelligent, and made leaps and bounds in the medical world.

I definitely believe there is a fuzzy line between genius and madness. I believe one of the contributing factors is that there is a huge communication breakdown that occurs between individuals with a large difference in intelligence. If you don't have anyone you can relate to, if your always viewed as an outsider and isolated, then that is bound to have an impact on psychopathology.
