Do you think God answers prayers?

Before I say any more, I do believe in God and I do pray. I feel like God has forgotten me at times and no matter how much I pray, He doesn't hear me. It seems like I get a busy signal all the time. People tell me to have faith but it gets really hard at times. If anyone has a faith builder, I sure could it right about now.

hello there to U...yes, i truly believe that GOD answers prayers...i know there are times when you think HE doesn't hear you but HE does...it's just that there are time for everything...you have to trust GOD, believe, have faith professing with good works, and you'll see HE will take care of the rest... GOD has a plan and a purpose for each and everyone of us...according in the BIBLE, in Matthew 7:7,8 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Never lose hope, maybe GOD is only trying you, for HIM to know up to where your faith is...there are test, trials, pain, sorrows, and obstacles in life...we should be strong enough to face those...according in Luke 1:37 "For with GOD nothing shall be impossible." You have to believe, anything can happen if you just believe...according in Matthew 17:20 "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Mark 9:23 "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." Just learn to wait and have patience, GOD will answer all your prayers in HIS right will and time...maybe it's not the right time yet for it...don't ever give up and lose hope, miracles can come unexpectedly, you just have to believe...have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

God does answers prayers. You might be expecting an answer you want. God can have different answers like: NO to your prayer, Yes, or Wait! There are many hindrances to prayer listed in the Bible. Some of which are: sin in your heart, unforgiving spirit, bitterness, disobedient to the word of God, quarrel with your spouse (if you are married), and others. I suggest that in the privacy of your life, check your heart if there be any wicked way that is causing God not to answer your prayers affirmatively!

So basically, you are saying that it is my fault that God doesn't answer my prayers? I guess maybe I do have an unforgiving spirit because right now my life is going down the toilet and even God doesn't care.

If you are a firm believer in the Lord, you will not think of your life going to the toilet. It might be that God is working something for you. That's why in His Word, He spoke: "Let not your heart be troubled". If you know Fanny Crosby who was blind but find joy in the Lord and compose many of the hymns we sing, you will also be grateful for the Lord!

I know that God helps us and guide us even without prayers. As far as I am concerned prayer is only a thanksgiving. He is so kind that He never expects and gives involuntarily.

You are probably right. I think he tests us also. I guess I would just like for one of my prayers to be answered. Maybe I am being selfish.

Sweetheart, You see it has been seven days since you posted this, and I am just now answering, did that mean I wasn't going to? No for you see I am. God said in His word that He would never leave nor forsake us, and He won't or He would be a liar. We know He is not a liar, because we believe in Him. Look at all Abrahm went through, but through it all what did he do, just what God said to do, he praised God, through all the turmoil and pain. That is what we have to do praise God in ALL things, and believe me I know how hard that can be, but it is worth it in the long run. What is that I see on your lap in your picture? I would say that is answer to a prayer and something to praise God for, start there by praising Him for the good things already in your life, then go from there, it will become easier the more you do it, before long you will stump your toe and say Praise you Father. Give it a try, can't hurt, and I know from experoence you will feel better soon. You will be in my prayers.

Thank you. Reading what you had to say made me feel better. And I do thank God every day for my granddaughter and my children.

Have you ever heard the Garth Brooks song "Unanswered Prayers?" I was never a big country fan. I went to college in the south for 4 years and fought being a country fan. Then shortly after I graduated I started listening to some. One of the songs that I really liked is this song. One of the lines is "Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers." It tells a story about his high school sweatheart who he he wanted to be with and I think prayed for it. It didn't work out. He runs into her years later with his wife and realizes that it was a good thing that prayer wasn't answered. Do I think that every unanswered prayer is a "gift"? No probably not. There are a lot of things I have prayed for in my life that have seemed unanswered that I definitely can't see the good side too. But I definitely have to admit that there are many many things I have prayed for that I am so glad God didn't come through on. Regardless of wether the prayer is answered or unanswered I feel that everything in this life happens for a reason and that its not always a good reason. Everything I have encountered in my life has made me who I am, and maybe if I wasn't this person that i am I would have made different choices and done different things that would have led me away from a path that I belong on for a good reason. Mayb e I'm meant to channel all the bad things in my life into one glorious moment that would never occur if I didn't have bad things to turn good. I don't know maybe I'm not destined to do something great but maybe I could have done something selfish that would have hurt someone else if I had gotten everything I asked for in this life. Sorry for the novel.

Someone once told me that sometimes the answer is "NO", and it may sound silly, but that made me understand! One thing that I do is thank God every night for another day of life and when I am feeling really down I think of all the things that He has blessed me with.........my family, friends, health (even though it's not the best, I am not suffering), a roof, food, clean water, a shower, a job that I was able to retire from, etc. I could make a list that would take me days. Sometimes it takes each day of writing 2 or 3 things that He blessed me with THAT day, which I read in a book once. Even if it has to be as simple as "I was able to get out of my bed today!!!" I believe that God answers every prayer but not always as obvious as we would want.

Hi ya there. He does find ways that may be different to what you think the way or ways should be that will answer your question. Surely God wouldn't just not listen and leave you to figure it out when He's there to help us. I believe in God and pray although I don't much cos I'd rather text him than to speak to him. I have this thing with prayers in that I don't feel like there's anything like our person to person talking cos I just don't. I may hate landline phone's but I sure don't hate the modern day Cellular Phone's they just seem to me as a different thing. I know they are different in that fact that they can be taken outside the house to go be with you even in town whereas the normal landline just goes around the house and only so far and then you are stuffed after that certain point. Catch ya later.

Yes, i believe that God answers prayers. However he answers to prayers according to his own time plan, also he can say no if the prayer request isnt good for you. 3 major answers God gives is either Yes, No or not yet. Also what you are praying for does have an impact on the answer you get, just praying for material wealth will probably give alot of no answers. When reading castrattons responce, i remembered another way God can answer. Sometimes God says no because he has something better in preparation for you. I agre, faith is something that can be tought. Jesus never said that following him would be easy, but he said it would be worth it.

GOD ALWAYS ANSWERS PRAYERS. Let me qualify. He always answers prayers by saying yes, no or wait. We've heard of this one right? Well this is true. He may not have granted a request in the way you want things to be but he answered it. Before I even continue, let me even reverse the question for you. HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT GOD DOESN'T ANSWER PRAYERS? Most of us judge God's answers according to how we like them to be. But God is never complicated. Most often we ask for signs, the most odd things yet he reveals his answers to us through our daily human lives. How? through your senses, through your circumstance, through your life scenarios, through your conversations with people. But most of us look for something extraordinary like bolts of lightning, magical events or even"voice from heaven." Get this, can you imagine if God answers you directly like a voice from heaven. I'm sure you'd be so scared you'll not even hear his reply...lol Again, God answers prayers in the simplest of ways. When we pray for something like strength, perseverance, wealth and so on, he doesn't give us the "fuzzy feeling" that we are already strong, persevering and wealthy. Yet he allows us to be strong, persevering and wealthy thru the circumstances we experience daily. Say for example, you pray for patience. He will not give you a "patience" feeling but he will present to you the nastiest person to challenge your patience. Our lives today has become a result of our prayers years back. But sadly, we forgot that prayer. Perhaps some of us may not have reached this very moment in our lives. But because we prayed 20 years ago, we're exactly where we are supposed to be considering the perspective 20 years back. But somehow we were the ones who changed along the way. So just be still and know that He is God and He answers prayers!

yes i believe that God answers prayer especially for those who believe and love Him. Sometimes, you will get the answer right away but sometimes it takes time and patience. And sometimes God answers our prayers but not the same way as we hoped he would answer. I cannot understand what God is doing but i know God is doing something that is best for me... and for you too

I believe God does absolutely answer prayers. It's just not always the answer we want or think we need. He hears and knows all, but His timing is perfect. Have you ever wished for something, got it and then realized it wasn't the right thing? Sorta like the country song (I believe its Garth Brooks) 'Thank God for unanswered prayers' ... God knows what's best for us, even when we don't ourselves. HIS timing.

Yes God answers prayers. Our pastor once preached to us that there are may reasons why God sometimes does not answer prayers. first, there maybe times that we have to go sufferings in order to purify our hearts. Sometimes, we cultivate faith during adversity. Sometimes, prayers are answered on a different time when we are ready. god does not plan to spoil his plans for us. Our sight is limited so we have to wait. I also asked these questions many times before, and it does take a long time before he answers.God will never forsake you madam. Ill pray for you.

god answer prayers but in different ways. Our prayers would not be answered, if we are not doing our part. We should not view god as a magician or a god that makes wishes true like santa claus, we should view God as a god of unconditional love. He compassionate and loving to all people even though some have different beliefs, and some doesn't believe in him. Prayers can be done in different ways, not by doing the sign of the cross thing. We could pray by doing our earthly jobs, like for example for a mother, her best prayer to god can be shown by taking care of her family, cooking for the children, etc. student - studying hard etc. Prayer is not the only way that we cab do to say we believe in god. When we say we believe, we are doubting if he really is true. When you think your prayer is not answered, God does really hear you. He is just letting you solve the problem in your own. Because he allows us to suffer, but he gave us freedom, to choose the decisions. the decisions we make will have the results, it can be good or bad. our prayers will not be answered in a sec, we just have to wait and do something about it.

I believe God answers prayers. Have you ever read Footprints on the sand, where it says that God is always walking with you and there are 2 sets of footprints. When there is only one set of footprints it means that in your most troubled moments God is carrying you. He does respond to prayer maybe not always on our timetable.

no matter whether God answers you or not, you just look into your heart and find what you want, then consider the answer to be the God's answer.

Hey ldybgsgma99, i´m feel exactly as the same way as you! I think that god has forgotten me too. But there´s no much to do, or we do the things by ourselves or simply wait for the miracle happens. I can tell you that if you choose the second option, it probably never happen. When i feel like that i think: "I can´t give up" "I must keep going with or without god" Obviously would be easier with the god´s help.
