Parents Approval

I think that there are times the parents have a legitimate reason for disapproving and only want to keep you from making a mistake. Some times it's good to listen to them. Parents are a lot wiser than we make them out to be. I wish I had listened to my parents before marrying my ex husband. It would have saved me from a lot of abuse and would have saved my children from having to see it. So, if your parents have a legitimate concern for you and the relationship your in, at least really listen to their concerns and then go from there. it may mean that you just need to talk to them about things and help them understand him better, or it may mean that you realize they are right. you never know. well, I will ask my parents why they don't like my girlfriend and if indeed their reasons are valid, I will talk to my girlfriend on whether she can actually change. Afterall, it shouldn't be a problem for my girlfriend to change if she indeed really love me. On the other hand, if my parents have no reason or their reason is just simply because they don't like her, then it is not fair to my girlfriend at all and I will fight for her. Anyway, I don't think my parents are like that. They are reasonable and fair.

i think it depends upon the situation. if the person is really nice i will let my parents understand that i will be happy with him.If i am doubtful i will consider the relation.But I will always value parents advice to more or less extent.

Personally, i would. I believe what ever my parents tell me must be the way. Even if your partner doesn't want you to break up with them, you should respect your parents and give them a bit of authority. Or just keep the relationship a little secret behind your back which nobodys knows about.

I dont think my parents ever liked any of my boyfriends! The only one they liked from first meet is my now husband. It did matter to me that my parents didnt like any of my boyfriends but even though they told me they didnt like them and wanted me to finish with them, I never did until I was ready. Even if I knew they were right, but this is because I dont like being told what to do, so I would just do the opposite to what they said.

My parents' opinion matters to me, so if they don't like my boyfriend, I will take another look at him and think why my parents don't like him. There's a saying that "Love is blind and lovers cannot see" that's why when we are in love, we sometimes cannot make logical decisions. If I happen to know that they have a point, I will obey them, but if not...I will follow my heart and prove to them that they are wrong and that guy is really worth my love.
