Do you make way for the car to pass you. As far as I know when you see one you have to make way for it to pass you if it dosnt put you in danger. Today me and my son walked to the shops. There is a set of lights that is for pedestrians there is no intersection or danger of other cars at all. Anyway the light was red and there was a car waiting for green light. The ambulance parked behind the car with the lights and the whole drill. Anyway the driver did not move untill the green light came on and did so very slowly there was absolutly no other car or danger to anyone apart from the poor person waiting for the ambulance. what is wrong with drivers today. And it is not the first time. I am lucky to live near the ambulance station so I see them every day.

There is no escapism for the driver in the car, who blocked the way for the Ambulance. When one drives, it is their duty to keep the eyes and ears open and to react/ adjust to the situations.
Though countries differ,i presume you are from Australia, and me from India, these kinda situations i have come across even in my town.
The slackeness and uncare attitude of the driver is clearly exhibited here, if he is not alert to these calls he could not have got the licence.
What if i see an emergency vehicle, i surely give way for it, and also have a spot prayer for the person, whose life is at danger... "O! God kindly save the life of this person."

if there was a danger to the driver than fair enough but there wasnt. My husband said that they (ambulance) write the registration number and they will not think twice of giving it to the police which is great.

One time I saw somebody stopped at a red light and an ambluance stopped behind him. The ambulance started honking it's horn like crazy. This was a busy intersection too.
The person you saw probably didn't know what to do when the ambulance came up behind him.

But where did that person get their locence then because it sais in the book you have to give way to an emergency car. I was in the car with my father wef years ago in one of the busiest intersection in my city everyone stoped so my father moved and was "fined" for going on red light. the fine was canceled when they saw the picture of the ambulance behind him.

He couldn't move. There were oncoming cars. If he went through the light it most likely would've resulted in an accident.

Well there are really drivers who have no road discipline. I have driven emergency vehicles since I am a paramedic by profession and have worked in a rescue unit for over 10 years. I have encountered drivers like that along the road. Sad to note that they don't even consider the patient inside the ambulance.

Do they honestly belive they or someone close to them could not be in such situation. When I see an ambulance I always picture one of my loved once waiting for one.
