It depends how one develops the frienship. Sometimes, when they grow from childhood to become adult, they understanding each other much better and when they find that they can trust each other, respect each other and they can live with great understanding, then not only they become lovers, they even marry. My maternal uncle's grand daughter had a frienship with a boy in school days, in college, she went to dentistry and he became chartered accountant. Still they maintained their contacts through exchage of phone calls, greetigns, gifts etc. Recently their parents met and finalised the marriage which was the wish of these two friends. Patience, perseverence, above all sincerity of purpose is most important.
