Can a handbag ever be too big?

I love to carry a large handbag that I can put everything in. I normally carry around glasses, sunglasses, lipstick, a cell phone, a novel, pens, a notebook, a flash drive, keys, etc. A few years ago, however, my chiropractor told me to use a small, lightweight bag with handles - no shoulder strap. I am crying now because I either have my hands full, or am carrying multiple bags!
