have you had a x-ray or ct scan?

i went today to get a x-ray on my stomach. everything was fine, they took a couple. then the man who was doing them told me i had to drink this stuff so they could see if everything was working right. i tried so hard to drink the drink they gave me, but i couldn't. if you know what fluff is, then your going to know what im about to say. it tasted like liquid strawberry fluff. it was horrible. i only took a couple of sips and i was about to hurl. so in the end i didn't drink the drink, they couldn't do the tests, and i went home. i really wanted to drink it, but it was impossible. have you ever had the drink the stuff im talking about? and if you had, how did you get threw it?

I haven';t had to drink the stuff you describe. I have had ct scans & an ultrasound. When I had the latter I was supposed to drink one litre of water. I couldnt. Well, I drank a fair bit of it, but then had to go to the toilet. In fact, I had to keep going to the toilet, even just before the ct scan.
How are they going to get the x ray on your stomach now?

its nothing really serious. that test was just to make sure nothing was wrong. but if it was serious im sure i could of drank it, maybe. haha

Sorry darling but you do not have a choice but to take it. That was the barium you were referring to. Perhaps an ultrasound will help. But if you want it to be given IV a CT scan should be done. Your doctor perhaps will be the best person who will help you on this.

I have had a cat scan but did not have to drink anything nasty. The closest thing I can think of is when I was pregnant and they make you drink that nasty, syrup stuff so they can check you for gestational diabetes. It tastes like orange crush concentrate and is super thick. Yuck!

Ouch, sounds nasty. I've never had to drink the strawberry stuff you are talking about. I have had dye injected into my system for ct scans and had a colonoscopy last year and had to drink some nasty stuff. Was able to mix it with Gatorade but I don't like the taste of Gatorade either. I drank it fast and used my imagination. Convinced myself it was Pepsi and I was loving it..lol
Do you have to go back and try it again? If so, good luck.

I've had CT scan, Xrays and also MRI & MRA but I've never had to take a drink.
