Studying more = Getting higher grades?

Why does so many people think that studying more equals scoring higher grades? I mean this is not necessarily the case for some especially me. I find that the more i study, the worse i score. I mean when i put in the effort studying, my grades dont justify my effort. But if i study less, i score higher than expected. There are many cases out there whereby people dont study and still get high grades and im not really sure why parents are so into the fact that they force their child to study hoping that their grades would improve... So do you believe that studying more = getting higher grades? Why do you think so?

This is because, the more you study, the higher the expectation of yours will be,therefore you kept studying and wanting to score higher. But when result is out and the score is not as high as you expected, you tend to feel down and feel that your efforts were wasted But by studying consistently , it will maintain and even improve your knowledge and foundation However, studying more does not necessary reflects your grade because in exam, luck plays a part too

i think study not just from the book, class, or school, we also can learn from the friends, working, and life. knowledge include not just from book, knowledge is everything. we should learn more other things, like relationship, that's more important than grades.
