try watching old movies- akira kurosawa's seven samurai, one flew over a cuckoo's nest...
try stanley kubrick films- a clockwork orange, full metal jacket, 2001: a space odessey
try watching award winning movies - a beautiful mind, pan's labyrinth (i thnk you'll like this, its not a cartoon but close to it, it has animation and the make-up/prostetics is really good)

if you're into psycho movies, i recommend THE NUMBER 28
if you're into tragic onces, i love IF ONLY and THE NOTEBOOK
if you're into love stories, my sassy girl(korean film), a walk in the clouds
if you're into royal things/kingdom,etc, you better watch "the man in the iron mask, ever after, the patriot, gladiator, the last samurai"
if you're into conspiracy movies, watch "conspiracy theory, italian job, oceans 11,12,13, after the sunset"
if youre into teen movies, i love "cinderella story, she's the man, she's all that, cant hardly wait, american pie's, john tucker must die"
if you're into professional tearjerker movies, you better see The Guardian, Patch Adams, I am Sam.
if you're into animation films, you better watch The Prince of Egypt, Shrek123, ratatouille, ice age..
if you're into action comedy, watch jackie chan's movies especially OPERATION CONDOR

if you're into comedy--go for Goodluck Chuck, it's so funny.. for drama--green mile and shawshank redemption--you might find it boring at first, but believe it's worth the watch, I love those movies!
