Why do people go on The Moment of Truth? Would you?

Would you go on this show? - moment of truth

Between marriages breaking up and women having nervous breakdowns I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to go on this show! I wouldn't put myself in that situation for any amount of money! I think the people who came up with the idea for the show are massochistic! Would you be a contestant on The Moment of Truth? Do you think people do it for the money? Why would they risk losing family, friends and basically their minds just for money?

I think same as you do - why do that? So you get some money but you loose your family! Guess famliies have a price - but then too, it sure does make the person look bad - and on national TV!! On the other hand, why do people want to sit and watch it at home? I mean, do they not have anything better to do with their time? Or do they just like seeing people be hurt! What a waste of time!!!

I agree with you coffeebreak. The show is awful, and a complete waste of time.

Would you do it? - Not me! No way no how. I love my family and friends too much to do that.
My thoughts exactly ctrymuziklvr. Why do these people do it and how do they do it? It's beyond our understanding but then again, to some people it's desparation for financial stability over anything else. This show is a prime example of how money is the root of all evil because of how these people will tell all for an amount of money. Very sad indeed. Very sad.

You have that right! Money is the root of all evil and these people prove it in front of millions of people every week.

Specifically, the verse from the Bible says "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil", not just "money is ...". Money is a g great thing when used properly - ergo the problems stemming from it - often it is not used right. I wonder tho, how much of all that on the show is true - I mean a husband and wife could pre-prepare their stories -none of it being true, but who'd know?

I wouldnt go on that show either. its stupid. I have watched it twice, and i seen the host on ellen. He said that the people know all the questions before the show airs, OBVIOUSLY, they have asked them about them during the lie detector, and they have the option to back out at any point throughout the show.. I think its possible these people are not real people, but just characters created for the show. What do you think ? No one is that stupid are they ?

I wondered the same thing? Can these people be for real? Is it all an act? I don't know!

I believe most of it is pre-prepared by the couple. Make up stories and stick to them and 'preform" for the audience!

The success of all the reality shows that are now on TV, ctry, brings to light the fact that greed is the motivating factor behind most people. I've learned that there is no limit to what people will do for the Almighty Dollar. You only need to tune into a couple of these shows and watch how people are willing to suffer any humiliation in the pursuit of money. They will sell out their family or anyone else in order to achieve their goal of financial gain. I know it paints an ugly picture, but that's the way it is.

There is no amount of money to get me on a show like that to hurt my family that way. I felt so sorry for the girl's mother and husband tonight.

I actually had the program on while I was playing spades and had to turn around to see those people and couldn't believe what was going on! All I can say is some people have no class.

I would never go on that show myself. I think the people that do go on the show think "Hmmmm, all I have to do is answer questions honestly and I get $500k? Can't get much easier than that!". In a sense, they're right. But then they get on the show and find out the questions are so personal that, by answering honestly, they're risking relationships. The concept of it sounds very easy, but it seems like they dig into your past and all aspects of your life to find those questions that will break up relationships to make it harder.

A 100% NO... No and No. I've watched a couple times of this show and I believed that even if you win, you still loose and you loose bigger

I really feel like the people who go on that show must be in a situation where they are quite desperate to win the money that is available. I think it's sad, and I've only watched the previews, but it always looks to be a pretty heart-wrenching experience. It seems like there's always the possibility of so many people getting hurt, not just the contestant, but their friends and family as well.

I will if I really want to show the truth and tell everyone else the truth for them to know the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

I totally agree with you on this one. I just started watching the show a couple weeks ago and I couldn't believe what I was watching. I can not, for the life of me, understand why people would go on this show either, other than they are greedy and are willing to throw away everything for the money. And where do these people come from, with their drastic lives. How can people have so many secrets that are so bad. I must live a very boring life because I haven't done any of the things they have. So I guess I wouldn't make a good contestant.

I think people do it just for the money and I also think half of it is made up just to make a better television show. You would not go on some show knowing it would ruin your marriage.

I would never, never go on that show. I think that it's terrible that someone would be okay with themselves going on a show like this knowing that it would hurt their friend and family this way. It just doesn't make a bit of sense to me. I guess to these people money is more important than anything. Which is really messed up.

I wouldn't go on this show. Its sad that there are so many people willing to do anything for money. We have no dirty laundry to air, but still wouldn't want to do it. My marriage is to important to hurt my husband.
