Tomorrow is Silence Day...

In my place, Bali we will celebrate silence day tomorrow. This day is actually Balinese New Year but we celebrate it in different way, in silence. The whole island will be closed for all activities, even the airport is closed. Nobody is allowed to walk outside their house. I like the silence day, on this day there will be no pollution at all and the air is very fresh.
Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow, so I can't celebrate the silence day with my family. I will stay in the hotel, where I am working, for 24 hours and serve our guest who can't go anywhere outside the hotel premises..

Thank you lilaclady, yes indeed a relaxation time for everybody, not to work, and not to go outside just spend the day with family and enjoy a no stress day because of traffic, pollution, etc...
Oops I forgot to mention that at night there will be only a limited lights allowed in certain place like hospital and hotel or if you have a baby in house, other than that it is all blacked out. You can see the star so bright at this time because of no lights on earth...

Yes it is... my mother ussually cook a feast during that day.. Anyway it is great too at work..and today on silence day..everything is just perfect...

Hi, afternoontea...
Bali is an incredibly beautiful island. Some friends of mine said that Bali is the most spiritual island in Indonesia. I visited your island twice, n I will go there again on April. It's not too far from my place in Jogja. So, happy Silence Day yah... I'm sorry you can't celebrate the sacred day with your family.

Thank you.. Yeah, it is not so bad that I still have to work. Anyway the hotel is quiet and the beach are so beautiful, because nobody is around..plus the weather is fantastic now.. I feel so calm..

that sound wanderfull,i have never heard that.
as far asa i kown,balinese is a very beautiful island.and now,i have picked that there is a such mysterious day there.the island is my first choose if i have enough money to travel the world.
i am from china,maybe there some mysterious thing to you,if you have some interest,i am very glad to tell you!~
