Do you think this would work better on myLot?

Very often I want to privately message a user an realise that we have never actually requested each others friendship so as it is against the rules to swap referral urls in a discussion or to have general chit chat I request their friendship and wait.
I never get any notification of when they have accepted so I have to keep checking my friends list or their profile til I have the option to send them a message. Sometimes this can be hours, weeks, months, sometimes they never accept.
Well once they do you have to remember what you originally wanted to say to them and then post it.
Why don't myLot change it???
....
....
....
Say for talking sake I want to message user1 who is not my friend, I should have the option to send message and request friendship at the same time. They get the friends request first and should they press accept then the message will be shown to them.
I can't think of any plausible reason why this would not be possible but obviously we all think our own ideas are the best so I am looking for some feedback on this.

Well that sounds all nice but it would take more work for mylot to install such a program. So it is not feesible for them to do it. But in saying that, since this discussion is 2 weeks old, they now have upgraded again, mylot, and now we get notification in our email when someone has requested our friendship and when someone accepts our friendship so that should help you with knowing when someone has accepted and you don't have to search out when and if they have accepted you.
What you might want to do is write down a little note on a pad beside your computer, with the persons name a little bit about what you wanted to send to them. Also I hope you are not sending someone a pm, your referral link, without them requesting it in a response. That is called spamming and mylot will not put up with it and they will ban you. They will not tolerate this kind of behavour and if the person you pm'd complains about it you will be banned immediatly. Read the guidelines and you will see the subject about this.

No no no I am not spamming. Right say for talking sake you looked at my profile and saw that I was from Glasgow inn Scotland, then you may want to message me and ask me what Glasgow is like, or tell me your Uncle lives here. Or ask me a question relating to Scotland that I may know the answer to.
So you would add me as a friend. And then say I ignore the request for a few days cos I am busy then you may forget my you initially wanted to speak to me.
That is the situation I am talking about.

Thats so true killahclaire
I have requested people and it would be weeks before they accept..but on the other hand i have also been on here and realize hey i have ??? request
I wish i would get an email or something whenever someone ask me to be friends because sometime i just dont realize that i have a number beside my friends thing so yeah emails would be a great idea people would probably accept faster and honestly i probably would also :)

The other day on here I took part in a discussion where a girl had received an email like the one you spoke about. She was confused as to why she received it and had decided that she didn't want them but we tried out requesting each other and it never happened again.
She even copied and pasted it so I know that she definatley wasn't just making it up.

i agree with you completely, i've had the same problem ny self i think it would be good if my lot changed there furles so we could talk to each other a little easier and faster, i've made friend requests that are 2 or 3 months old so i ended up deleting the requests ,lets all get together and try and change up the my lot rules a bit
