God is all knowing, so he knew Lucifer would betray him and become the Devil

Why would an all loving God create the very Angel (Lucifer) he knew would fall from grace, and bring about sin? God knew ALL in the beginning, if he truly had wanted us to live like him without sin, then why create it?
We all beleive that the bad things that happen here are brought on by Lucifer, the Devil. War, famin, death, disease...however God had a hand in this too. Or did he? I am confused.

I have often wondered the same thing. I have heard a preacher put it this way though and it makes sense to me. As a parent would you still have children if you knew that they might grow up to be a thief or a murder? We all take that chance when we have children. It all has to do with free will. God knows what is going to happen but the free will is still there. If he hadn't created Lucifer then we wouldn't know about free will. Love is freely given and if we didn't have a choice then it wouldn't be given freely. To me what is more puzzling is since Lucifer was almost next to God why he chose to try to be number one. He really had a pretty good position.

Good Question. I don't have all the answers, and I do myself wonder the same thing.
The only thing I know is that God gave everyone a free will. Lucifer is not the only one who fell. Many of us had fallen too.
It doesn't make any sense to me why God created evil in the first place. I just know that he wanted us not to be puppets and that he wanted us to decide for our selves whether or not we would serve him.

If he truly wanted to give humans free will, he wouldn't threaten us with ETERNAL PUNISHMENT WITH NO CHANCE OF REDEMPTION for making the choice he doesn't want us to make. What kind of free will is that?

I rhink there is some mystery here. And for me it is quite ok to sat it is mysterious. After all there are lot of mysterious things in life... Even in science itself we cannot explain all, and therefore if we cannot explain certain metaphysical question it is reasonably ok. But just because we cannot answer this question if we say that there is no God I find the source of objective evil quite perplexing.
However I would be happy to read any answer that people give to resolve the dilemma.

yEah i agree with free will... we are not machanised roberts...so we do have a free will so do the angels in heaven.... and far as eternal punishment goes... i dont think thats gonna be just without a fair chance for evry one...after all its a world where no one belives in myths or any thing ancient any more...

Hello Jennygirl,
Indeed God is all knowing, and he knew Lucifer would betray him and become the Devil, But God Didn't compel the Lucifer to Disobey, the Lucifer Have chosen Disobeying Him, So, Lucifer is the one to be blamed For that, and God send His Prophets to the Mankind To warn them of the Lucifer.
The Lucifer whispers into the hearts of Mankind to do Bad Things, The Bad Things happens when we disobey The Commands of The God and Choose To Obey the Lucifer .
This How I understand It as a Muslim

Verses Of the Holy Quran about The matter :
[14:22]. And Satan will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty."
[14:23]. But those who believe and work righteousness will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow,- to dwell therein for aye with the leave of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be: "Peace!"
