What keeps you motivated at work?

Do you have a normal 8 hour, 5 days a week job? Is Monday the day you hate the most? Do you count how many hours left before your lunch break or the end of shift? We work to earn money to use for everyday living - that's a given fact. But aside from that, what keeps you motivated at work?

Right now, I work 10 hours a week teaching English in China. I work Monday 2:30-4:10, Wednesday 8:00-9:40 and 10-11:40 and the same times on Friday (total of 5 classes or oral English). I make 4500 RMB (about $630)/ month and it is really quite relaxing to me. When I was working in America, I was working two jobs (40 hours on my full time job and anywhere from 20-40 hours on my part time job) and I often worked 8-15 hours in a day depending if I worked one or both jobs in a day. I worked 7 days a week and I still didn't make ends meet. What motivates me here is knowing that I am making a difference. I enjoy my current position because I am able to help my students and that is important to me.

That's really good. In my job, I need to work for 13-15 hours if it requires overtime. And I can't really go on working 7 days a week cause I will break down and get sick. Knowing that you're actually making a difference is noble and humble motivation. Thanks!

I do have a regular 8:30-5 job M-F. Monday does stink b/c often I didn't complete everything over the weekend that I had wanted to do! So usually Monday I'm thinking about how I have to wait ANOTHER week to complete those things. What keeps me motivated is just keeping busy. On days where I just constantly have projects on my list, I feel like the time flies by much faster than days where I don't have a lot on my pile. I also like to take short breaks to talk to CWs just to get away from the computer. We walk down to the cafeteria for a drink (soda is free :) ) and that is like a nice 5 minute break and a lot of times I come back rarring to go!

I'm working 6 days a week for 12 hours from Monday to Friday and 8 hours on Saturdays. I'm just thinking that others are no jobs and that I'm still lucky to have this tiring job. Whenever Monday comes I'm just thinking this day will past and soon it's Sunday again. Wheeewwwwww I love Sundays Also I'm just thinking that payday is coming . Mylot also motivates me at work.... there are times that I forgot lunchbreak.

Ever day is new day in job task remain same. if you work for work you get bux, if you work for bux you fell stress and restless and discouraging others work. you are lazy that wont like to work but money showers that's not motivate you to work. If you respect your job/work then you will rewarded. was not this true.

I actually like my job, so it is not a huge struggle to go everyday. Just like everyone I have good and bad days, but most times they are good days. I like my fellow workers, my boss, and many of the costumers that walk thru the door. So being motivated is not a issue for me really.
