Does your cat mind being photographed?

Yesterday, I snapped a few pictures of Mimi. I need those photos to send to her original owner. However, Mimi did not appreciate being photographed! She opened her mouth to bite and kept it open for about a half a minute, then lashed out at me with her paw.
On the other hand, Columbus seemed to enjoy the experience, lol! He kept walking towards me and the camera. And Waffles just sat quietly and contentedly.
Cats do react differently, or so it seems. Have you tried photographing your cat, and if so, what happened?

Hi there,
My cat Moe seems to be bothered by being photographed. He is not a very good model! He also seems to always know what I am up to and about to do, even when using my camera on my phone which has no flash. They are pretty smart though. I get the best pix while he is sleeping :) Anyway, I am sure the flash hurts their eyes.

Probably. I'm still surprised that Waffles was so calm, and that Columbus insisted on walking towards me on the bed. Columbus is the most social cat and Mimi is the least. And you're right. Cats are pretty smart and can certainly sense what we're up to.

Sounds like your cat takes everything in stride, but at least he was cooperative.
I daresay that Mimi might have cooperated with me had I contented myself with taking pictures of her rear end. From the get-go, Mimi sat on the arm of the sofa, with her rear end facing me and my camera. I'm sure that her owner would not have wanted a picture of Mimi's rear, lol!
So when I tried coaxing Mimi into a more suitable position, she took issue with it and became really annoyed. As soon as I thought that a photo of her could be taken, that damn cat changed positions so that her rear end faced me and my camera once again. Go figure!
