These days I like to read books in the evening often when I am sitting in bed before I go to sleep. I like to sit on my sofa and read a book as well. When I studied English Literature I had to read each book three times and this was easy with books that I liked. With books that I didn't like it could be more challenging to read them more than once. In those days I liked to read during the day or evening. If I get a book that really grips me than I find it difficult to stop reading and so I finish the book incredibly quickly. I liked to read whilst waiting for a train and if it is dark I carry on reading on the train.

I find reading avery relaxing way to settle down before I go to sleep. I mainly read non fiction although recently I have started to read some of the books that my wife gets for her book club. The odd chick lit book I pass over, but she has had some good stuff. I am about to get into My Cousin Rachel by Daphne du Maurier, so it's years old. I have to finish over this weekend as my wife needs to have read it by Tuesday!

I find reading helps me to sleep so it's the last thing I do before turning the light out. I like to read a couple of chapters. I also like to take my book with me when I go out walking, if it's nice enough I will find a bench in the middle of the wood and sit and read, it's wonderful, it's quiet and I'm getting the fresh air as well, I usually take a bottle of water and some fruit with me, very relaxing.

I love reading during non-working days when I don't have much stuff to do because I want to finish it the same day. But recently, since I'm so loaded with a lot of things that must be done, my books just gather dust and webs in the shelves. I get to read sometimes in the computer. But it's not the same as when I'm reading a 'real' book because I don't feel relaxed at all. When my dad was hospitalized last year, I got to read the rest of the half finished book that I started reading a couple of years ago, when I looked after him for a couple of days.

I read before going to bed. It actually hels me fall asleep since when my eyes get tired, I get sleepy.
I also like to read during afternoons when I am in the porch and got nothing to do. I also want to read when I am alone. I can't seem to put everything in my mind if I have company while I read.

I prefer to read when I am in my bed and alone. I can easily finish the book if it is quiet.

I read out of habit any time I'm not doing anything else. I also often read in the bath. And I always read for a few minutes when I go to bed, without exception - it's part of my ritual for going to sleep, I wouldn't be able to relax otherwise.
