For the last 2 weeks, I have been saying "Are you kidding me??" when it comes to voting people off the island!!! I find that the fans are no match for the favorites and after last week, I think that they had to mix them up or it would have been a complete blow out. I also find that the fans are very boring and I realized last week that I had no idea who was who and what their names were. None of the fans seem to stand out to me as interesting. The only one I remember is Joel because of his size and he reminds me of a cave man. Is the casting team that desperate to find people for survivor or did they just make bad choices this year??
So after they merged the 2 teams, it was clear that they made a huge mistake by keeping Chet, who looked like a rag doll in the rewards competition and proved to be no help in the immunity comp, despite their big lead. So I was thinking that Chet was going to be sent packing for sure and then low and behold, Joel is voted off! It seems like the weakest players are controlling the game and they will continue to lose competitions unless Ozzy can carry the whole team on his back! I would have never guessed it but it seems like Cirie is the mastermind this season in kicking people off.

AGREE that Cirie is the mastermind, CHET! why is he still there? I can not explain that one to you at all. This season for survivor so far I would have to say is the worst. They need to get something going or they are going to lose there ratings. I know alot of people that has stopped watching it. I can not believe they are wanting to do way with the stong so early in the game. Now with the other team having James ( which I do like)! Ozzy will have to work his butt off. But he ask for that hisself. For he let Cirie talk him right into voting off Joel. Maybe Cirie will work her tail off. Let's see what next week brings.
But there choice in people playing the game seems as if it was not a great Pick this time. For them to all to be the most popular fans of Survivor, they act as if they have not seen the show before. It would never do me any good to go on a show like that. I am to vocial, I would be gone on day 1.

Cirie seems to be smart because if she didn't convince Ozzy and Amanda to get rid of Joel, he was planning to have her evicted next time they lost. The "underachievers" have taken control of the game but it could back fire if they lose all the competitions. When the tribe becomes 1, the winning team could have solid new alliances made and the few left from the loser tribe won't stand a chance. I think that they should have focused on winning challenges to keep as many people until the merge.

Ooh Yeah! GOod Point! Now, being a fan, I have watched every single season and know that shelter, water and fire are first and foremost.
These so called "fans" didn't know what they heck they were doing!
Not to mention, if I was ever planning on trying out for Survivor, I would be in the gym, the library, online researching survival techniques, tips and methods, researching some tropical plants, weather, etc.
How to build shelters, how to purify water, first aid, health issues in tropical locations to do with nature, how to make fire, fish, hunt for food, etc, and the list can go on!
Is it that hard to learn something in preparation for a chance to win a million dollars?

I would be doing the same thing as far as researching everything I could!! If they didn't call these people "fans", I would have thought that they never watched Survivor in their lives!! They are completely clueless and have no clue how to "survive". Chet has to be the most pathetic player in history! I know that there are always "slackers" but they are quick to be voted off. Maybe he just looks worse because they are keeping him??

Survivor is turning more and more into a mind game more than a physical thing. People have become more prone to voting off the "most dangerous" member versus the weak ones. They are thinking of the end even from the very beginning. In some ways it's smart, but I still hate to see the strong players being voted off first. I wish it was more of a Survival of the fittest than of the wits.
I agree mixing them up was necessary. The fans really are not all that captivating. The only one that stood out last night in my mind was the kid who's occupation was labelled as "Ice Cream Scooper".
I think next week will be interesting since Ozzy's tribe will most likely lose. But with Cerie stepping it up early this year, there may be a battle of wits when it comes to whom to vote off. That is if Jonathan doesn't have to leave first. Ouch!

Thats funny that you mentioned the "ice cream scooper" because that occupation did grab my attention! I don't think that I would want to go on national TV and be labeled as an "ice cream scooper" unless I was a high school kid working part time...but then again, I would prefer "student" over "scooper"!! I do remember Kathy from the first episode and her curly hair. The others seem so forgettable to me though!

The only other fan that stands out is Kathy. Only because she reminds me alot of the comedienne Kathy Griffin.

Yeah but wasn't Joel voted off by the favorites? I thought the fans wanted Chet to go? I know cirie was making a case that Joel is weak b/c he didn't actually help at all during the immunity challenge (didn't break any boards).
I hope that next challenge is really physical and since they lost Joel that they totally suck at it!!

Joel was voted off by his team mixed with Fans and Favs. The favorites did seem to dominate the decision though. Ozzy and Amanda seemed like they were going to vote Chet out until Cirie convinced them to get rid of Joel. I think that the only chance that they have now to win is in a mental challenge, like questions. And that is if they are actually smart! lol..By the way they voted, it doesn't seem that way!

SSoooo right!
Fans are boring, the only fans I remember names for are Joel because he was The Hulk and Chet because he is the Strawman form Wiz of Oz.
Cirie is very much under the radar and playing a lot of people. She is good at that game, and I imagine after the last one she was on, she learned that she had to play differently this time.
The reasons for getting rid of Chet and Joel were both good, however, I would have realized that there would be no chance of getting to the finals without winning some challenges!
I would have gotten rid of Chet for his apathetic demeanor, physical weakness, lack of passion for anything Survivor, and because winning as a team before the final merge means you have numbers on your side.

That is soooo funny about the hulk and the strawman!!! Joel does remind me of the hulk or a caveman! And if Chet "only had a brain"!!! lol...Ozzy and James are the best players but Ozzy's choice to keep Chet around may bite him in the booty, when he is trying to carry the whole team and dragging Chet from behind! Joel said that he couldn't believe that the tribe kept Chet over him and I agree that I would probably want to crawl in a hole after that but he did do the same thing to Mike the week before. I guess "what comes around, goes around"!
