Tropical Plants in the Four Season Countries.....

Last week, I saw tropical plants in a big store. I actually wanted to buy one of them. But I thought that I couldn't grow it in the four season country where there is a harsh winter season. I just don't understand why tropical plants are being offered here. Do you think such plants can grow in the four season countries?

You can put it outside spring through fall and bring it inside for the winter. Indoor plants grow outside too. My basement is full of tropicals that I bring in for the winter.

Most of them are Passiflora and Brugmansia species. Then there are a few like Beaucarnea, Hedichium, Strelitzia, Musa and Heliconia.

I think they can if you keep them as indoor plants during the cold months. If you do an info search on the plants you might be able to find out. I personaly do not see how tropical plants could be a money maker for them in a four season county. Was what you wanted a plant for outside only or a plant that you could keep indoors?

I tried it last time. But after a few months, it began decaying.

Get the name of the plant, research it, many of them will overwinter quite happily in your home. I have to bring my Brugmansia's and Passiflora's in, and they do quite well.
