Has Someone Else Ever Written Your Book?

I'm not talking plagiarism. I'm talking about all you wanna be writers who got an idea for a book, but for some reason decided not to write it or kept putting it off. Have you ever suddenly found that someone wrote the exact book? That's happened to me a few times. The most recent one was just before I started this discussion. I had an idea about a book about Santa Claus' daughter a few years back but didn't write. Then, just now, I found someone wrote a book about Santa having a daughter. There were differences, but the basic idea was the same. I also thought of writing a book version of the Aesop fable, "The Tortoise and the Hare" and sure enough, someone beat me to the punch. So, is it just me, or has anyone else said, "That's my book, but I didn't write it!"?
