I think that even if you are reinstalling windows xp, you should always back up your applications. Do you have an external hard-drive to carry out regular backups? If you don't have the original software CDs then these backups can prove invaluable. On Windows XP Professional you have the backup facility known as NTBackup. This is not available on the home edition installation but you can retrieve this file from the original disk. Once this is on your system it is very easy to carry out regular backups of the program files folder which I gather is where your applications are located. Why did you reinstall xp though? The best thing is to format because then you give your system a fresh start. Did you not have the original software application disks? Goodluck. Andrew

well you can reintall it but as long as you have your cd's that came with the computer then your fine because your hard drive will be erased and all the drivers wil be deleted but with the cd's that came with the computer you can just pop that into your computer and your fine.... but lets say you dont have the cd's well all you have to do is go to your computer creator and serach drivers then just put those driver on a cd and pop that into your computer and BAM your drivers are there just install them and your done..... i know this works because i had to do that with 2 of my computers............
