I'm always willing to learn from others and it hurts me so much to see so many ignorant people praising Fidel Castro. My Dad was in jail for 9 years and his only crime was to disagree with communism.

It is the media.A thing which have been repeatedly told for several years tend to make a permanent mark in thee brains of the people who come across it who don't have the time and chance to go the the said destinations to verify the authenticity of it.

Yes, the media has a lot influence on people and because of lack of time we tend to rely on the media too much ,but at the same time any country that doesn't allow free elections where people can choose their own type of government should be somewhat suspicious to people. At least democracy gives you an opportunity to change the people in power.

I am always learning something new from coming on Mylot every day my friend! Remember you taught me about a haiku, well if anyone comes up with something I don't understand or interesting then I will ask to find out more, knowledge is power, and we can never know too much can we! I think it's good we can learn from others and gain more knowledge to improve our lives and make our lives more fruitful for learning.

Right. One interesting part of mylot ,I can say the most interesting part is you have the chance to observe and learn a lot of things from people from different parts of the world. It is very interesting to know the way they face things and the things they are coming our with.

I would like to have full knowledge of things which I feel are interesting for me. I like to know about intelligent things that they show in national geography (spider exception), about how human body works.....it is very interesting to see what happens inside our body at every action of ours. Some miracles that keep happening now and then are interesting. I don't want to learn books by-heart to prove that I am genius. But I still have one wish which is not fulfilled and that is to hear Bala talking in Hindi...........here I feel I am still thirsty for knowledge..........:))

I am very much interested to learn new things and new ideas. Unfortunately, I am occupied by work and do not have much time to do the studies and learn more. Though if I have free time, I try to study new things and do some research on things that interest me.

Bala, I have a tendency to know things which we should know or even shouldn't know, may be. I would rather surf internet than watch a daily soap or some alluring stuff on television. Most of the times my wild, untamed search leads to something I really do not know. And this realisation of getting into something fresh and unknown is great. I think, this is but acquiring 'knowledge'.

Very true.Internet is a goldmine of knowledge if you know the chaff from the grain. This morning I just happen to search for the significance of ear piercing in Hiduism.I was sucked into the vortex of all the rituals for the young ons in different ages in Hinduism and their significances and meanings. It was just mind blowing. What we know is not even speck in the ocean of knowledge. The search is never ending and forever.

I use to say that I wanted to know everything there was to know about everything, then I grew up, LOL. In order to know it all, I would have to experience way more than I am prepared to. So I will settle for my learning opportunities.
