is there a difference between religion and spirituality?

I read somewhere that einstein said life must be eternal because energy is eternal. do you think he meant a life went on forever or the energy we create goes on forever? someone else, who i cant remember his name, said that when we die we join the collective subconscience. Do any of the non-religious mylot users believe in an eternal afterlife?
