Hi,
There is nothing there to get confused. It is just like two friends. How would you feel if some one looked through your private things? will you agree? If a close friend of yours goes through your mobile how would you react? but in the case of Bf and Gf then it gets a bit more serious. It is a case of mutual respect and privacy. If the two can respect each other's privacy then you need not look into your friends phones.
If you get possessive that he is talking to other girls and you start doubting his integrity. Likewise if he sees some boys nos in your mobile or some smses then he'll start doubting you. It is always better that you do not pry into other people's matters. If they willingly show you then it is good but if they do not like to then treat it as their privacy.

Because he was cheating you he did not want you to see his mobile. He would be caught then.. Isn't it?
Only some ask for privacy.. They will not like anyone else using their phone or for that matter any of their personal materials. but in you case it was not like that. he was cheating and so he hid his mobile away from you.. You do not need a friend like that.. you are too good for him, dear forget and get over him soon..

i thought that being girlfriends and boyfriend are also being one to each other..maybe it's here that i was wrong..i can't trust him coz of keeping his cellphone from me..it was when he started cheating on me..

you're certainly right friend..yet i still love the person..he promised to change and i'm giving him this last chance..even though i know that my feelings are at risk..at least at the end if he will fail me, i'm sure this time that i don't have any regrets..thanks

To me, I think there should not be a problem at by looking at your partner cell phone. It's a prove that both are faithful to each other. Although it violates the privacy of your partner, but as long as he/she is hiding something from you, then it should not be an issue or concern. Unless there is any message regarding the secret of third party. Then it's debatable. The best practice is, we shouldn't keep confidential text message in our cell phone. This is to protect ourselves and also our loved one (eg family members, other good friends) so that their secret won't be known to your bf/gf who they think it's not comfortable to reveal their secret to.

Cellphone is a personal thing. Ask first permission to your BF/GF before you look at it if they refuse then don't bother. You cannot share your personal belongings unless you both agree with it. So nothing to be confused...

before, we usually exchange cellphones..he can view mine..i can view his..but now, it's a big no no..can't even hold it for seconds..it was when i knew and he admitted that he's cheating on me..

As an issue of respect they shouldn't want to look. As an issue of trust, they shouldn't have to look. But if for some reason you have reason not to trust, you have bigger problems. Look if it makes you feel better. Don't think it will. AND YOU MAY RERET IT.

i trust and respect the person..it's just that i just think he can't be trusted and don't deserve me respect..he was so open before but now he's not and i found out that he's not honest to me cz he is into something...
