Which Laptop & Configuration Do you Prefer??

There is an old adage in the electronics world, and it still holds true today: "There is Hewlett-Packard, and there is everything else." No...I do not hold stock in HP...nut I respect them for the constant quality, and leading-edge technology they offer. I love my HP external HDD, and my HP Printer-scanner-Copier. I have owned several HP computers, including a "Think Pad" Lap Top years ago...never had a major problem, and product support has always been first class. I now build my own computers, because it is more economical, and I can tailor it to my specific needs. I'm working on becoming proficient enough to use LINUX as an OS instead of WindowsXP, only because it is a better OS and does not eat up so much space. Second choice would be Toshiba...very excellent laptop. I would avoid Windows Vista for a year as it is a Beta release, and should not have been offered to the public before testing and debugging was completed...in a year it will have all the problems resolved and be good. For now XP Pro is excellent.
