I think a mouse is better. Myself I have a thumb mouse because my desk is tiny and don't have a lot of space for a normal mouse. _José

Since I never used a laptop much when I did have my own I immediatly set up a usb mouse for it. didn't like the fingerpad at all....but then I never really spent much time getting used to it.

yep it definitely is more comfortable using a mouse with a laptop. although i'm fine with using the touchpad but i think i would prefer having a mouse. for both of my laptops at work and at home, i have a mouse for it.

Like you do I also use the mouse although my lap top is supposed to be with finger pad. Besides, my fingertip got sticky sometimes using the fingerpad.

The mouse is definitely more comfortable since its used mostly on desktop PCs and it will be the same if used for laptop as well.. But for me, I have no problem using the touchpad on the laptop as I find it a hassle to carry an additional mouse. Well, I can be quite good with the touchpad that I remember playing Quake 3 first person shooting game and I won my friends easily with it :D However, I don't like using the old pointing stick device that is most common on Lenovo and IBM laptops

When I bought my laptop the salesman suggested I may want to buy a usb mouse rather than use the touch pad, especially as I had only previously used a desktop computer. I find I prefer using the laptop touchpad to the mouse. I have more control simply by sliding my finger over the pad to move the cursor on the screen - as if by magic!
