I prefer to drive to where I am traveling if possible. that way I can see all of the scenery on the way. Also I can stop somewhere if I find it interesting.

I think that the best form of travel is overland. I love to go traveling by train. During the day I look out of the window and see the scenery. At night time I like to sleep in a comfortable compartment. Europe has an excellent train services. From Moscow the Trans Siberian Railway goes across Russia and the Trans Mongolian Railway goes to China. Australia has some great train journeys like Brisbane to Cairns with entertainment in the form of a club loco car on board. Not all countries have train services and so it that case a bus is the best alternative. They are good for looking out of the window and seeing beautiful scenery but night travel in a cramped seat with little leg room can be a bit uncomfortable.
Ships and ferries can go to some lovely places that trains and buses can't like tropical islands. It is a slow and relaxing way to travel. Sometimes on a sea voyage land is in sight but sometimes only sea is there to see and so that gets a bit boring. If the sea is rough a voyage can make me feel sea sick.
Planes travel long distances quickly and air fares are often quite low considering the number of miles flown. Economy class seats are usually close together and offer little leg room. More and more people are considering their carbon footprint and so pay money to try to offset climate change. It is possible to fly for 12 hours and arrive far away in a setting that looks stunning a white sand beach and a blue ocean.

i prefer by air since the time will be cut short hehe. mostly i travel by air but of course if the distance is short and there's someone driving, then it would be nice to go by land. i rarely travel by sea though.
