when is the suitable time to buy a department?

I am 30 year old this year. I&my busband and little son live with my mother in law&two younger brothers of my busband together. I like to own my home so that I can do anything freely. But price for the department in last year and this year is so high!! Some people said the price will go down end of this year. and some said the high price will keep in 2-3 years. Pls let me know when is the suitable to buy a department?
