There are rumors that having a 13th floor is bad luck, do you believe on that? buildings here and some other parts of the earth are getting rid of the number 13, means they dont give floor 13 or room 13 names, they said its not good numbers, in China as well, they hate the number four, for it's the number corresponding to death, and it's also bad luck, well 9 they said is good, cause it's God's number. But for me, its not the numbers its how you promote your buisness, I don't believe in feung sui, sorry to the chinese out there this is just my opinion, forgive me I said too much. Do you guys believe in lucky numbers?

I'm not sure whether they've done it or not, but the Royal Alexander Hospital, in Brighton, England, had its Maternity delivery rooms on the thirteenth floor. They were supposed to be moving them down to the twelfth, though. Numbers don't worry me much, apart from my life path number, which is 6, my birth date number which is 3 and the number 9, which is the number Divine completeness. Brightest Blessings.

Yeah, it's all superstition anyway, and if you think something bad's going to happen it will, of course.

I used to be so superstitious of the number 13, I would dread it falling on the friday with a passion and things always seemed to go wrong on that day. If I went up or downstairs I would not count 13 but get to 11 and step over the next two so it would be 12. Then I gave birth to a son, yes on the 13th and it just seemed to break my superstition. When we moved into our now house 2 years ago, I noticed when I was going upstairs that there wasnt 13 stairs, now we have 3 floors to our house and the first floor to upstairs has 14 and then the second lot of stairs to the second floor has 15, I thought that was quite strange and wondered why it had been done this way. The house is over 100 years old, but dont how recent the sets of stairs are. I dont have a lucky number though.

maybe the one who build that house believes in "oro, flata, mata" method of good luck stairs, oro means gold, flata means silver, and mata means bronze, they base it on what was the house should furnished with.

Thats an interesting theory, I will remember that one. Maybe one day I will get chance to look into the history of my house.

Numbers are numbers and to some they do provide luck, which of course maybe coincidental. I suppose if you put your thoughts hard enough into anything then a positive mental attitude will see you through. Have a great day from Deeeky.

they do that here too, as far as I can tell the 13th floor of a building is still the 13th floor, regardless of what you wish to label it as. It does not make sense to me. I do not think numbers intrinsically hold any special powers or abilities... though some are symbolic and that symbology has special meaning to people. I could not help but notice that your user name contains the number *13* :)

well I was born on that number, and the day is friday. I don't believe on any luck, it is I who makes my future not the numbers.

I don't really believe in lucky numbers specifically. However, I think we all have our favorites. Just to share, 13 is actually one of my favorite numbers and I like to think it is lucky, instead of unlucky, for me! :)

I don't believe in lucky numbers. I know people do have a thing about the thirteenth. Friday the 13th and all that. I understand some people's fear is very real, but to me that number represents nothing. Incidentally, did you ever see the movie " The Thirteenth Floor"? It was pretty good, out about 7 years ago I think.

They are only now getting rid of the 13th floor in buildings where you live? Where I live many buildings have not had a 13th floor for many many years. I personally do not believe it is bad luck, I have always had good luck on every Friday the 13th.

I do...but probably not the traditional ones. I really like the number 13 and it's been lucky for me. My oldest son and my youngest son were both born on the 13th of the month. Five is another number that I think is lucky for me.

I actually like the number 13. I got married on Friday the 13th. It was in February and it was really nice out that day it was in the mid 50's and my husband and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary this year. I don't beleive in superstitions to much like certain numbers are bad luck.

Yes, there's really the existance of this kind of taboo. We do also dislike 13 here in China because this number means dump. I know that westerners do not like this number from a documentary film about Chinese Foreign affairs. It's said that when Prrsident Nixon pay his visit to China, which is definately a very big event. The then Premier Zhou Enlai arranged many things for President Nixon in person, he paid attention to taboos in American culture and he emptied the 13th floor of the hotel that President gonna be live in.

I've never considered numbers as being lucky or unlucky, and I have no superstitions about anything considered 'Luck' My sister was born on Friday the 13th and is no unluckier than anyone else. If anything she's had more 'luck' in her life than the rest of us! Mind you she works very hard to be that 'lucky'. My Mum used to say that Jesus must have liked the number 13 or he'd have only chosen 11 Disciples!
