It started in Sydney, Australia last year when on one day for one hour, 2.2 million citizens and numerous businesses turned off their lights to show that they could have an impact on global warming. The effect was like taking 48,000 cars off the road for a whole year!(All statistics are from the Earth Hour website). Now Earth Hour has gone global and people all over the planet are signing up. The Date is March 29th at 8 PM. Since it's the same clock time for everyone, I figure it's going to look like a light switch going off, time zone, by time zone around the globe. Can you imagine that? If you want to be part of history, you can sign up here, http://earthhour.org/user/osQn. This is my page. I don't get anything for signing you up, but if you'd rather go to the source it is http://www.earthhourus.org

Wow, thanks for the headsup! I like easy methods to at least help to save the environment because while I don't think about it on a daily basis, I hope that my children will enter a world that's still welcome to new inhabitants ten years from now. Another important thing people should do is recycle! :D Makes me wonder if there's a recycling subject within the mylot community. Thank you for the excellent tip again!
