Sick of the bill collectors calling

I am a member of sohojobs.org and have found a job working at home, but the money that I will be making is not enough to get the bill collectors off of my back. I am restricted in what I can do as I am a customer service rep and I cannot work for a competitor's company. I am looking for another opportunity - not MLM, affiliate marketing, PTC, surveys or forex, that I can do from home part time. I have 10+ years in administrative services and type about 50 wpm. I do not want to work outside of the home as I have children that would require daycare and that eats up too much of my income not making it worth my while. Anyone have any suggestions?

Wow, so the sohojobs is real. I also received their email and because they asked for a subscription fee to be on their members list, I thought they could be a scam. How long have you been a member of sohojobs? After being a member how long did it take before you found a job? Any suggestion? I need to find work at home job too. I currently work in an office and it is taking alot of money for gas, lunch, and maintaining outfits. I also wish to have some free time to attend to my kids when they are sick and I want to be able to pick them up from school. Do you have any guides? As for your question about finding other jobs : I recently found this but i dont know if it is true, but try: workingsolutions.com You have enough office experience, also try executivesecretary.com

I am sorry it took so long to get back to you, but I have been spending every spare minute working trying to catch up on bills. Not sure if you joined sohojobs.org yet, but they have had several new oportunitiesover the last few weeks that appear to be "whenever you have time" type of jobs. I have been a member since late February and got my first job within a few weeks. To be completely honest - I do not like the job - but it is helping to cover some of the bills, so I guess right now - I'm stuck with it. But on the other hand - I have found a few other earning opportunities on the board that I have started working with and have made a few extra bucks each week with each of them. As for free time, I really do not have much of it since I have chosen to take on several part time jobs to catch up with the bills. Let me tell you - the check from the government next month is great - I just wish it was double the amount! I am not sure what you mean by guides - so I can't answer your question there but I will try the other site you recommended. Thanks!

Thank you for replying with your post. It is great to know that you paid and you actually got jobs to do. I will definetely be doing it too. Good luck with earings and finding more posting. Now my next part, is to get past all those resumes and make my resume shine. Did you have to pay someone to do your resume, I read that soho offers that too. Is it free for paid members?

It is free for members to get a critique. There is a lot of information on resumes on the site and they do help you make it shine, although they do not actually write it for you. What you do is review the information, try your best to follow the rules for how a resume should look for a work at home professional and then post it for review. One of the team members will review the resume and comment on how to make it "sparkle".

Have you registered at http://elance.com ? I can't justify actually hiring someone from elance as yet, but I know that eventually I'd like to be able to call on someone like you to make modifications to my PLR ebooks etc etc for my personal development website and internet marketing blog. Anyway, go to elance and see what you think. I don't think there is any charge for offering your services (but don't quote me on that).

I have registered at elance and a few other similar sites. The problem I have with those sites, not to sound prejudicial, is that there are people from 3rd world countries bidding on the same projects at a much lower than competitive rate. I have seen bids as low as $3 per hour. I am sorry - but I just cannot compete with rates like that. I want to offer my services, but at the same time, I am worth much more than that. My bids, depending on the complexities of the project usually begin at $10 per hour. I believe in getting paid for the work that I do as I am a professional and have many years of training and experience behind what I do.

I agree $3 per hour is ridiculous! I wonder if people who actually pay for such cheap services get quality work done? I doubt it somehow.... Maybe you could compete on price for a couple of jobs and build up a good reputation? Then increase the price to something that is fair. I'd like to think there would be a lot of people are willing to pay good money for a job well done.
