How many of you had an epidural for when you were going to give birth? Were there any problems after you were given it? Right after they gave me my epidural they had to help me get all the way back into my bed. I was just happy that I couldnt feel the contractions anymore. They really really hurt. Anyway, not too long after that they noticed that the babys heart rate started to drop. So the nurses would roll me around to pick his heart beat back up. Next think I knew they were putting an oxygen mask on me and rolling me over a big ball and everything else to pick the babys heart rate back up. It had dropped all the way down to about 50. The doctors came running in and said they were doing a c-setion b/c he wouldnt make it if I had to push him out. All I really remember after that was my husband having a white face, my mom telling me to stay awake and dont fall asleep, my 17 yr old brother holding my hand, my dad cring and a few other people in the room who looked really scared. I was so out of it I didnt really know what was going on at the time. I didnt realize that I was about to lose my baby if they didnt get him out fast and they had the oxygen on me to keep my heart rate up also.
Do you have any stories about epidurals? Good or bad either one. Do you know someone who had one done and it went wrong like mine or did they not have any problems? Heck even if you didnt have a baby and have had one done whats your story.

I had an epidural when I had my daughter 4 years ago. Everything went great for me. I was so happy I couldnt feel that awful pain anymore! Luckily though I never had problems during or after I had one. My sister also had one. She didnt have any problems really. Just the fact that it only numbed half her body. So she still felt some pain from it. But she was good after words as well.

I am soooo afraid of needles that I never had one - not with any of my six boys. A friend of mine had an epidural and ended up having a stroke as a complication. That scared me even more! I would never have one.

Yes I had an epidural with my first child. I did not have no problems with it. Before or after the birth. My second child it was to late for me to have an epidural. OMG did I miss it.
I am so gald to hear that everything was ok with you and your baby. That had to be a very scary thing for you and your family.
