How old were you when you got your first tattoo?

I had just turned 18 2 days before hand when I got my first tattoo on my lower back. Its a tribal sun thats just all black. There is no reason for it or meaning to it, I just got it because I liked it.
How old were you when you got your first tattoo? Is there a story behind it? Does it mean something to you or does it have an actual meaning? What is your tattoo story???

Can I ask why you wouldnt want a tattoo? I understand it is a personal choice and all, but you seem very against it from your post. If all you would like to have is just tem tats then more power to you. I just did not know if there was a certain reason why you would never get a tattoo

I have nothing against tattoos and those who wear tattoos, in fact I put temporary tattoos when I feel I want them. With temporary tattoos like henna I can change or wear different tattoos. But I don't want any permanent markings on my skin. I love my skin and I want to keep it clean.

I was 20. I had it done almost a year ago, my husband (then fiance) drew a picture of a butterfly that I liked (I love butterflies) it is more of a tribal butterfly look and then the word love in elvish. It represented how I felt free and growing like a butterfly grows from a catapiller and gets its wings, and then love as a reminder to always love and not to be superficial and judgmental, as I had before been against tattoos and people 'destroying' their body, it was a reminder that we are all human and we all make decisions of which could be good or bad and that we have to live and learn from them.
I love my tattoos and would like to get another one, I had planned to get one on my wrist but the tattoo artist I had gone to told me they wouldn't do it because they faded too fast, then I wasn't sure if I had wanted another one if it was going to fade quickly in the place that I wanted it.

I was 22 when I got a tattoo on mu shoulder blade of a daffodil.
I had just come out of a 4 year relationship. having the tattoo was my way of sying - a new me, fresh start etc.
I chose a daffodil because it is my Nan's favourite flower and I am very close to my nan.

I was 17 when I got my first tattoo. It's a heart on my left upper arm. My best friend and I both went and had a guy friend of ours do one on both of us. To this day she and I both still have it. To me it represents her and I's never ending friendship with each other.

I was 18, I had just turned 18 about 4 months beforehand. There are 4 Kanji symbols in a diamond pattern all circling the symbol for love(Ai)
