How do you feel being ignored by your own friends?

Recently my friends invited me to join them for a drink in a club. Well, things seem to be normal at first however later I realised that they seem to ignore me and only chat among themselves. I really felt out of place and nobody seem to notice me. In the end I sat and had a drink all by myself. Did you ever experience that kind of situation and how did you deal with it? Did you feel you are just an alien among the crowds?

i have been in this situation many times, the main reason behind this is majority of my friends smoke, and often they offer me and when i say no to them they feel bad and start ignoring me,this is happening to me from past 2 years, but i don't feel bad ,bcaz such things are common in life.

That's one of the most depressing thing can happen in life, other than your gf on vacation and ignoring your facebook messages.
But to answer your question, if not hygene problems, just to got to learn how to talk like a marketing student - lame, pointless, and full of shitzniz to impress people around u. Trust me, it works!

That happens a lot. Sometimes, depending on how big the group is and how much they seem to be ignoring me, the worse I feel. Sometimes it gets to the point where I wonder why I even bothered to go out with them because it was pretty pointless since no one seems to be talking to me. Other times even when we don't go out I feel ignored which is even more irritating because there isn't anything fun going on for them to ignore me.

Hello highflyingxangel. It seem you have experience it too. I guess you do feel being an unimportant person for the evening. Before I join my friends next time, I must know where they intend to go and also the type of crowds. I don't want to be left all alone and be a loner.Anyway, thanks for your comment.

I have experienced it a few times already. Most of the time I would just sit with them until it is time to leave. Occasionaly I would add a few sentences to their discussions and sometimes it would work.
Sometimes I would do my own work when they ignore me and usually they would bring me into their discussion when I became serious in my work.

Hi Jerrymouse!
I did interrupt them a couple of time but it seem they are not interested in talking to me. They seem so engrossed with their topic that they didn't notice me at the corner. Well, that's life, have to bear with it. Thanks for the response.

Hello, goldwin! in parties it sometimes happen like that.so you should not feel yourself to be ignored and participate in the discussion and eating.on the other hand if you leave the party they would just be insulted and for that you can't excuse you.so have patience and sit with them and enjoy your self as if nothing has happened.thank you.

Hello bbsr13. Actually I was about to leave them behind without informing them but as you said they would just be insulted by my action. On the other hand, I had to bear the consequence, being left alone and ignore. Anyway, thanks for your comment.
