I would dare to be different! By the time i have upgraded my PC way above Vista's minimum requirements I would do it. If you would recall when XP was new then, these where the same rants people are cursing XP, now every body is into XP. By mid this year let hear your opinion again.

oops my mistake, this should be on the other hate Vista tread. If your hardware is way above minimum requirements then go ahead.

pros: responsive, takes advantage of fast PC's, Microsoft's latest OS cons: compatibility issues, driver issues, not meant for slow PC's, resource hungry, need a lot of tuning to match XP's performance it totally depends on you. If you think that you're PC could handle the (uber-high) requirements of Windows Vista go ahead, it would do you good. Just bear in mind that there is still a-lot of fixing to do to optimize Vista. Goodluck!

My answer would be NO.... There is so many things wrong with Vista and the last you are going want to do is end up in a mess with Vista... It may sound good but it's truely not... My husband has a computer with Vista on it and he's ready to take it back to the place he got it from.. If you have windows xp on your computer I highly suggest you keep it that way at least until Vista is more workable... I hope this helps!

I think before you upgrade you had better checked if you have the minimum requirement on your present system. For one you will need a min. of 1GB RAM. and others which I think you should be well aware. Also, you need to give some due consideration for your current games and work softwares - compatability issues. So think before you leap here.

you may have to check your computer to see if it can handle it. it may not be ready to, and you may have to upgrade the parts that it needs to have updated. my computer is not capable of vista yet.

only do the upgrade if your buying a new machine, if you dont get a new machine then you will need to probably perform a lot of upgrades to your current machine so Vista will run correctly.

I wouldn't reccommend upgrading. Buying a new computer with it would be a better option.

First of all look at your PC's Technical specs and compare it to the minimum requirements of Vista. Well technically we all know that minimum requirement is not ENOUGH for us. Haha so better make sure you PC can has about 50% above the minimum requirement to satisfy yourself. Sooner or Later Vista can gain its reputation comparable to XP or even better so don't cross your fingers instantly:p Look at the bright side:D

I will say YES. Don't be fooled by people who say Vista is a crap. For sure, they do not even used it and tested it for hours. You just need to make sure you have a dedicated graphics card.
