How Do You Know You're Dead?

It has puzzled me for a while how do you know you are dead? Other people know it's obvious and life still goes on for everyone else, but it seems so impersonal doesn't it, when everyone else knows BUT you! I mean it's your life surely you should know you're dead!
So what happens do you wake up in a new life, a new world, do you go upstairs or downstairs, I just can't get my head round it.
You go to bed and never wake up, but what happens, is that it? Do you suddenly say I'm dead, who tells you you're dead?
Who tells you that you are no longer around family, friends, that you are living
There must be something to tell you that you are dead surely?

I have not got a clue, and this is something that i have thought about myself. If you die in your sleep then surely thats it nothing, unless there is an afterlife, which is another conception altogether and not one I believe in entirely. But I honestly havent got a clue, I shall be thinking about this one for ages now!

You are beyond awareness when you die. The question becomes irrevelant my friend. Your existence has ceased, your thought processes have stopped along with everything else. The space you once occupied eventually fades to nothing but dust and ash.

well wolfie , my understanding , is that we as bodies made of the dust of the ground , go back to the dust. but being or ,rather spirit that GOD put in to man in the garden of eded goes back to GOD, I would say that if a person has accepted Jesus as savior that it would be up and if not it would be down .Hope that answers your question.
